Bangtail Divide tour guide
Any Bozone mags want to play tour guide for my wife and I on Saturday or Sunday? We're pretty solid riders but not super fast. Hit me up if so. Also, if anyone wants to ride after work this week let me know. I rode Leverich today and it was nice and tacky.

I've done bangtail a bit, don't think you need a tour guide but I'm always game to go ride

Dang. I'm gonna be out of town all week and thru the weekend. I've give you a shout when I get back in town. It's a great ride. If you can leave a car at bracket it's nice, otherwise park on the road at stone cr. and be repaired for a little climb when you get off the trail. Or park at bracket and ride the road first.

It looked straight forward but if I can avoid the road with a shuttle I will and with my admittedly shoddy navigation skills the wife will be at ease. Plus I need to know which brewery I should frequent post ride.
So south to north is the preferred direction?
Also, any trail recco's to check out would be much much appreciated. I've got the Bozeman area Beartooth map.
Thanks for the help.Last edited by concretejungle; 07-15-2012 at 08:04 PM.

South to north would be my preference for sure. I would try and get it done on a week day as crowds can make the descent a real bummer. Shuttling is rad and all, but it takes me a bit over 3 hours to do the whole loop back to my car, doesn't seem worth the gas or hassle

Weekday isn't going to happen but are we talking real crowds (CO front range) or MT crowded because to me they seem different? I saw exactly 3 people mid day on Leverich yesterday and like 10 people on History Rock the day before. I'll just yell Strava the whole downhill.

I'm no shuttle monkey so unless someone wants to I'm not dragging two cars up there if it isn't worth it.
Probably hitting Sypes to the M tomorrow after the misses gets off work. Gotta pickup the babysitter, I mean grandma, in the morning. PM me if anyone wants to ride as the wife has work and I have a babysitter. I'll just say it is a business lunch.

Anyone want to ride Emerald or Blackmore the next couple days. I gotta drop junior off off and pick her up but that's it. Blackmore to Cottonwood anyone?

I did Blackmore to Cottonwood 2 weeks ago -- DON'T DO IT.
There's about 20+ trees that were blown down in a recent storm.
Someone's been clearing the trail, but they have only gotten past the History Rock cutoff, so the upper section of the trail (which has the best singletrack) is still way too much HAB.
Langhor/History to Cottonwood would be fine...
