    Sony RX100 is current top of the heap for pocket cameras. Olympus XZ1 a good second choice.

    RX100 looks seriously cool. Debating if it can replace my DSLR for light and fast trips.

    Do not get a DSLR.... get something compact that still takes great pictures and you can tie to your wrist. DSLR = money to Eurotrash thieves, and you only have to be not paying attention for 2 seconds for it to disappear.

    Panasonic Lumix TS20K

    This camera takes great pics, is shockproof/waterproof, and is very versatile for more than just vacation. It actually takes fairly good macro pictures as well.

    Also, you might want to wait until next week to see what Canon is bringing to the table with their mirrorless offering.
