    179 or 189 Pon2oon?

Had the 189 and 179 of old version. Preffered 179 for quickness and due to K2 measured length it was more like a 185. Does the Pon2oon measure same as first Gen?

With the new flat tail, going longer would not be required. Leaning towards 179 since I ski alot of trees and I am pretty light at 180. Just read all the Pon2oon threads and am not sure. If 189 is true 189 I think that is best, but if its long like 195 then maybe 179, UGHHH.

Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

K2 always measures short. I have not pulled a tape on the 2oons but the smart money would say 179 would measure 185.

However, the tgr mantra says when in doubt, go big. Longer skis obviously demonstrate your ability to lift line eyes...

whyturn, not sure if it helps but:

    the old 189 measured 196cm.
i didn't measure the new 189 at the shows, but it *looked* closer to 189-192 give or take when i was holding it.

not great information, but better than no information, hopefully.

Ill throw up some measurements tonight from the old and new models but as marshal said im pretty sure the 2oons are a little closer to the stated length than the old ones.

    Pontoons? Go long.
What are you worried about? Quicker turn initiation in the bumps?
    They are PONTOONS!

Got around to measuring the other day and the 2oons are about 1 cm shorter than the originals in the 189 length. the real difference i noticed this last winter on the 2oons was the flatter tail and overall stiffer flex. it made them a little smoother as things got cut up.

So got the 2oons and really like the shape. Tail reminds me of the Renegades which I like the slash and stability. Nose has lower but longer rocker. Length is a true 189. The underfoot looks fat and well at 134, it is. Seem like a fun ski, flex is comparable to megawatt (blue) which I find to be a crud buster. Tails have a nice plastic protector and graphic is sick. Really loved old toons and think these will be great at place like powder mountain. Hoping they will be quicker than megawatt for super deepness. I just need some Pow, come on El Nino...........
