Simms Dry Creek Boat Bags, any good?

I need something waterproof for the skiff, anyone have one they like? Its considerably cheaper than the Patagonia Divider.

I use a W/J boat bag but know plenty of guys who use that Simms bag and love it. I here the same of the Patagonia bag too. You'll be happy with the Simms.

In light of the thread on Tippett busting..... When you get one of these non breathable, rubber lined boat bags, I'd suggest removing your Tippett and extra leaders during a summer float. Anywhere you van out those things tostay out of the sun or an oven like environment, (I.e. a boat bag in the sun), and will have your leader/Tippett material and extra line thanking you by staying stronger when tight to a fish.

I have one and I like it. I did have a problem - the zipper failed on my first one. Simms replaced with no hassles, the new ones have a wider waterproof zipper that seems to work much better. The first ones had a smaller zipper that cross zipped itself almost immediately. I am a little leery about throwing it around by the top handle too much now - I use the shoulder strap more.

I'll even throw in a pic!!

You got it - Red Creek camp right below the rapids. Many, many beers were drunk, maybe because we were thankful we made it on our first time down.

I have the large one I use when I'm in my drift boat. Waterproofing, dividers, and storage room are great. I also had a problem with the zipper failing but Simms sent me a new one very quickly. The old zipper was too tight, and you really had to make sure the lid was fully closed before you yank on that zipper. It's a sweet bag though.

Get the Patagonia Great Divide or Sub Divide if the funds allow, they use a %100 waterproof zipper whereas the simms does not. Also seem like higher quality overall to me.

I agree with this ^^^ I have both and the Gucci bags are better quality. I would say that I liked the Simms bag better until the zipper blew out. Sent it back and the new one's zipper blew out pretty quickly. Gucci bags have nicer shoulder straps, as well.

Thirded on the gucci bag. I picked one up last year after recommendations from the mag collective and have been very happy. Zipper took a bit of breaking in, but with a little ferrule wax and some time, it works like a dream. Tons of space to fit big fly boxes, extra tippet, roll of TP...and I can even fit a DSLR in there if needed.
