A Worthy Cause: Do you know the difference between kale and chicken??

This is spammy, and a cross-post from the EC Roll call. But I thought with the topsheet discussion, it might merit a wider audience.

Vermont artist and t-shirt screener extraordinaire Bo Muller-Moore has been hand screen-printing his signature Eat More Kale logo t-shirts in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom for years. Recently, fast-food giant Chik-Fil-A set their trademark attorney after Bo, claiming his Eat More Kale logo might confuse people because it is too similar to their "Eat mor chikin" advertising slogan. So far, the trademark office's initial response agreed. We think kale is pretty easily distinguishable from chicken. While I enjoy a kale chip here and there, I am not likely to grill it up, or marinate and kebob it on the 4th.

To show our support for this local artist and Defiant Dude, Worth is taking up the Eat More Kale cause as one of our WORTHY CAUSES. We worked with Bo to come up with a special EMK graphic. When you buy a pair of our skis with the EMK graphic, we will donate ALL of the after-cost proceeds to Bo's legal defense fund. You can support this local artist, and rock a pretty sweet-looking pair of skis to boot (at least we think so)!

Sorry, man, but I love Chik-Fil-A. Don't start with the political/religious stuff. I know what they stand for and I know they produce awesome food with amazing service.

Political/religious stuff? Sorry, man, but I don't have any idea what you are referring to. This is about a large business using its resources to constrain the legitimate activities of a small local artist by virtue of a trademark claim that doesn't pass the straight-face test. Not unlike large ski builders suing indy builders for patent infringement, but rather less technical and certainly more ridiculous. There is nothing political or religious in my post. But thanks for the bump...

So what you are saying is the being held back in the first and second grade did nothing for your reading comprehension? Glad you bailed before junior high, waste of tax dollars.

funny, weasel's post didn't mention chik-fil-a's (religious nutjob, so i've read) ownership...as it really is besides the point in this mega corporation v. local small business story.

but since nogophers brought it up in his support of the company...the cat's outta the bag so to speak.

cool graphics for a cool cause. and not just because kale is my favorite green for stir fry.

i just hope one of the big chinese-built ski conglomerates doesn't come out with their own chik-fil-a branded knock-off of your ski

I make a killer kale slaw and the last time I made it, I accidentally used chicken.

It's a great cause. This about corporate America bullying the little guy. Reminds me a lot of this case:

I would love to see him coutersue, he's been doing Eat More Kale for longer, correct?

Chick-Fil-A was on my hit list driving down to Miami last winter because my gf grew up down south and swears by it as the only fast food she will ever eat. I was pretty impressed with the food and service but I won't eat there again until this is resolved, that's for sure.
.....I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

Your mom- who i assume you also love- also makes great food and, well, give AWESOME service. FWIW that doesn't mean she cant be a raging bitch too.

Take your head out of your ass. Not only is Cfa illiterate, they're being real shitdicks about things they don't need to, which is becoming par for the course unfortunately. This is some lawyer trying to make a buck and a company that can shove it. Besides, Popeyes rapes cfa daily.

Also, Chik Fil A hates homosexuals. They donate millions to anti-gay groups:
