Gone Skiing's 2012 Season Review Stoke Thread

It wasn't the deepest year, but it sure didn't suck. I got to travel and ski new places with new people and old friends, and I got in maybe the best ski shape of my life doing endless laps chasing friends through the hard chalk at Crested Butte. Didn't ski as much backcountry as I'd like, but managed to enter every stop of the Freeskiing World Tour plus the Taos event, ski pow in August while visiting two new countries, podium twice, and get a Sickbird buckle. It started too late and was over too soon, but I had a blast while it was here, deep or not.

Some pics from my good friend and a great photographer Trent Bona

Probably not going to make it down to South America again, but you never know... Either way, I can't wait 'til it starts snowing up here again!

Nice - I like the music choice as well.

1:10 = bad-ass. Had me scared on that first landing.

Good editing + good skiing = POV redemption.

Good stuff, Tom. Nice music choice.
We don't make the snow. We just make it more enjoyable.

hairball but you made it look good
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.

People who don't think the Earth is flat haven't skied Vail.

That was sick, lots of burly stuff in there but the line at 1.10 is especially badass. Looks like you definitely stepped things up this year.

1:10 was way scarier from your POV than watching you ski it from, and 2:30 was a great day. Sick sick.

Thanks everyone! 1:10 was pretty scary, I actually wanted to single that a hair to the right, but miscalculated and sent it into the bush. That was finals at the Snowbird comp, and it got me a podium and the Sickbird .

daver, welcome to the valley! 2:56 was up at Revelstoke. Fun shit...

1:10 was a sick line, makes me wonder why I even bother clicking into skis after seeing that go down. Nice work
