Thread: MPC#87 - Hot / Heat (ends 7/16)

Summertime, grillin', campfires, girls in bikinis, major league fastballs...we're as far from winter as we can get in the northern hemisphere, so let's see something hot or something with some heat. (if you go an NSFW route, keep it tasteful please)

RULES:
1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.
2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.
3. The contest moderator will choose 5 photos to be voted on.
4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way, not an option.)
5. In the event of a tie, the contest moderator will have the deciding vote.
6. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.
7. The winner has 3 days to start a new contest or 2nd place becomes the new winner.

Guys, 1 week left and 3 entries? Are you out working on stuff or is the topic a bit soft? It was off the cuff, fwiw....

I didn't get any fireworks shots this year but ha e seen plenty in the potd thread that should be in here..

i like it. dammit geomorph beat me to the first panting dog as subject. obviously i'm not the judge but i think fireworks are reaching a bit.

I just got sweet burn scar from some flaming metal that hit my arm today.

Gotta figure out how to do that one. Maybe after the blister pops.

daytime highs have been about 24C/75F here. i was waiting for it to warm up but the trend just went cooler.

Given the heatwave pretty much the entire country is experiencing (other than us) I thought there'd be quite a few more entries. I have some ideas but they would require some setup and planning and no time for that this week unfortunately. Tuckerman beat me to the punch on the fireworks.

I'm too sweaty to even think about picking up my camera.....

Was trying to figure out if i'd try and compete with the fireworkds crowd or not but realized ours were a day before the MPC87.

Anyone that lives in the CDN Rockies knows that when it's hot as fuck for more than a few days in a row, the thunderheads start to get restless. So hot as fuck days form awesome clouds which result in hot as fuck storms. Storms here where you can get shots unimpeded by rain are rare and from town you usually don't get thunder heads this big.

Please excuse the watermarks as it's my posting online mark. Was going to make them smaller just for this but fuck it ...same thing either way.

You really like shooting at f/11 huh?

Sweet shots.

lol...I have my custom dial C2 slot at f11 for quick landscapes...use it to quickly slot in when I want to get a quick shot and get out of the mossy cloud asap. #3 was the exception on bulb and it seemed to work best for the time I wanted to stay open for. Tried a few different ones for #3 but hey F11 just worked better.

What could be hotter than a pink Jaguar?

OK. It's not a great picture, but it's a hot car.

this is an iphone shot using the phone's inability to adjust to get the sparks to show against a fading sky

oregon coast so a fountain is shooting sideways in the wind. we built a castle earlier in the day and then fired off fireworks from the castle as the day ended. we even had a bald eagle fly overhead at dusk (no shot of it tho)
