TR: June turns in Southeast AK. Kid stoke warning.
So, there's still snow up high on the mountains here in southeast. Decided to take our 3 year old out for his first June turns and his first earned turns. Also first turns using ski poles. Let's call it a day of first's, cause it was also the first time we'd had a sunny day in a few weeks. Life in a temperate rain forest.
Some music for your listening pleasure.
The first 500 yards took about a half hour with a little (ok a lot) complaining (gimme a break, he's 3) but after that it was all uphill. Till the downhill.
This part wasn't super fun
It got a lot better and we were both happy hikers!
A nice steep pitch. Proud of my boy earning those turns!
Nice views down the valley.
We didn't summit but we hiked a decent amount. He's psyched we made it. I was too quite frankly.
A quick rest and a snack.
Hurry up mom, I want to SKI!
Killing it at 3. Even with poles.
June turns woot!!
In all a stellar afternoon on the mountain with the boy and dog. Looking forward to turns in July.
He's enjoying Alaska and has no problem swimming in the cold ocean

Tele, since you know the mountain...up the road under the BB lift, up Nugget, up Motherlode and back down all the way to moon drop before we ran out of patches.
