RZA - The Man With The Iron Fists

Been in the works for a spell, but finally coming to fruition.

Given RZA's martial arts infatuation, I can't help but think this joint will be money.

    ^I hear ya, man.
I find the cast listed on the poster to be a bit uneven and somewhat mainstream, but given RZA's affinity for martial arts films I hope he's got all kinds of legendary cameos (I'd be surprised if he doesn't since he's a cinematic disciple of Tarantino, and QT put Gordon Liu and Sonny Chiba in Kill Bill and also has Franco Nero showing up in Django, thus paying tribute where it's due)...

addendum: cursory glance at IMDb does, in fact, confirm that RZA has populated his film with an intriguing and varied array of martial artist cameos, both old school, new school, and now school.

As for RZA's directing chops? He made a pretty solid short martial arts video for his track "Tragedy" back in 1997, so he's had 15 years to improve his behind-the-cameras steeze...

perhaps not related to the film, specifically, but RZA just dropped a new track via Soundcloud:

As someone who grew up listening to Wu (graduated HS in '96), trained CMA, owned 250+ CMA chop sockey flicks at one time.... I'm cautiously optimistic..... I was only a fan of the newer wujia (martial fantasy) stuff like house of the flying daggers.. some of the older stuff was just too hokey. This looks to take some cues from the older stuff, but again, we'll see. Cast looks DOPE though.

Naw, just intrigued by the film. It's the third film he's directed, but the first to actually get released.

Though I have interviewed him on a number of occasions in the past when I was still a practicing journalist. I wrote a couple of stories for print and a couple appeared online.

In regards to the latter, I interviewed him in 2004:

    and then again in 2007:
