Second Best SoCal Punk Band Ever?
Face to Face has been rocking me extra hard lately
"never going to see what you like
You're never going to wake up and change your mind
You're never going to keep what you hold
You won't accomplish anything on your own
You can't have what you wanted
So make up your mind and come to your senses
You'll never win if you don't bend
It's not so complicated
If you decide to change your mind
You'll find your inundated
You're never going to do what you say
You'll always try to make up another way
You're never going to act on your own
You're never going to see that you're all alone
And so you're here and you don't know
If you can choose the way to go
It's not about the way it is
So don't become a realist
You've got time to make a choice
Don't think aloud but have a voice
And when you think the time is right
Don't ever be afraid to fight"

Honest answer for Woodsy: Social D is my favorite socal punk band. I'm not even sure what "best band means". Social D and Face to Face manage to exposure the vunerabilities and insecurites in life that really speak to me.

HWM is my favorite band EVAR! Their new stuff doesn't vibe with me the way their older stuff does (i.e. Counting the Rhythms, Fuel for the Hate Game, Forever and Counting)...but they put on such an intense live show. Love these guys.Waste your time, read my crap, at:

how'd we get this far into a discussion of so-cal punk bands without anyone mentioning X?

02-05-2005, 12:35 PM #13oh yeah Live at the Hardback is great. Their cover of Leatherface's Springtime on that disc rules. Was fortunate enough to catch both Leatherface and HWM in Lancaster, PA a couple of years back. Stubbsy and Chuck sang it together while HWM rocked it out. Ahhh...good times, good times.

Springtime
There's a little bit of springtime in the back of my mind
Remembers when there was a time when we danced
And we laughed spent some time drinking wine
And somewhere in there there's a little child without a thought
Without a doubt that every cloud is silver lined
He is warm and everything is new and everything is clean
And everything is free and there were still so many things to see
So many things so many things left to be very small drop in the
Middle of the big sea of high and mighty things
Your fascination for larger than life your brand new appetite
As though we'd invented it and we danced
There's a little bit of springtime in the back of my mind
Remembers things perhaps as they should have been
Rather than the lies rather that the cruelty
That sometimes we were guilty of as everybody knows
We were only young and really couldn't have known
We were very young and though it's nice to know there's a place to go
There's still so many things left to see
Little drop in the middle of the big sea of high and mighty things
Your fascination for larger than life your brand new appetite
And there's springtime in my mind and I'd rather be alive
As though we'd invented it and we danced
It could have been the longest time and I'll remember it
You don't know what's in store when we laughWaste your time, read my crap, at:

Let's clarify the Flag:
Black Flag through "Damaged", plus the songs "My War", "Can't Decide", "Slip It In", and "Black Coffee".
Late Black Flag was a bag of ass.

I'm hurt"
