Android rules, iPhone drools. Cydia for verizon 4s?

Sick of this POS but I'm stuck with it for awhile longer.

There doesn't seem to be an official jailbreak for the 4s yet, I could be mistaken. I actually hate the way apple forces you into the scummiest corners of the universe to give the phone basic functionality that comes free with the android like tethering, switching between phone calls easily, whatever.

Does anyone have any horror stories about using the Cydia marketplace? I know I can wipe it if things go horribly wrong, but would prefer not to waste tons of time customizing skins or anything useless, I just want to sync via wifi, etc.

Jb'd my apple immediately after purchase. Ran it that way for 3 years (contract).

No problems with cydia or with stability. Pretty heavy user, what with answering emails and conducting work from the chairlifts both summer and winter.

Now have had an andriod for 2 years now. No reason to root the droid yet.

huh? I had my gf's 4s jailbroken untethered for weeks now.

I'm not too big in to customizing my phone and all that but I jailbroke it for GPS apps. I got to try Garmin Navigon, Sygic, Tom Tom and topo apps like GPS Kit and MotionX. The gps is amaizing. Very good signal reception. As for customizing I find that it slows my 3gs down. I seen many android phones run slow too. I guess apples idea of controlling what you can do to a phone is good to keep it running smooth. Still they should have a "pro" mode that gives full access.

Go to the website Redmund Pie. They have all the links for the most recent jailbreaks. 5.1.1 is untethered through greenpois0n and should work with the 4s. It's working flawlessly on my 4. Cydia is awesome as well. Apps like bitesms, iFile, and 3G Unrestrictor are all great, but cost a few bucks. You just need to do a bit of research before downloading stuff as you can mess up your phone. The macrumors board is a pretty good resource. As you know, worst case all you need to do is restore and re-jailbreak though. If you download pckgbackup, that process goes really smoothly as you don't need to install all your apps, folders, etc. again.
