WTB: Hydraulic brakes. Juicy? Shimano? Hayes?

I am building a budget SS and have pretty much everything I need except brakes.

    I have rotors.

super bling need not apply. budget SS for sure.

    free shipping.

I have heard some people bitch about juicy - but then other's have had zero problems on the new specialized comp builds.

I've been using the avid elixir that came stock on the 2011 SJ Elite - and had zero problems with those. Easy to service, etc.

I've got some magura something or others and some Hayes 9's I'd let go of for super cheap. Been hording them to do the same thing, but reality says it's not gonna happen so someone might as well use them.

Shimano SLX, best brake ever around the $100 pricepoint.

I'm guessing $200 for a set isn't what you had in mind when you said "budget"
I would personally either buy those Elixirs from dfinn, or find a pair of BB7 for $50-60 bucks.
Going with BB7, you'd get someting arguably just as good with a whole lot more ease of maintenance and adjustability. Which, I would think might compelment the SS idea.

This. I have BB7s on my SS and really love 'em. No hassle!

Agreed. This is an absolute no brainer. Shimano is killing it in the brakes dept lately.

If the OP isn't interested in these, I may want them. What size bike did they come from (I. E. what hose length), and what size and type of rotors?

^^^I'm waiting to hear back from dfinn about these, as they would be my first choice. otherwise will go with hick's.

I have elixers on my other bike and would like to be consistent....for bleed kits and pads.

So...el chupa I will let you know if I pass on them from dfinn. otherwise waiting to hear back from him with a paypal address.
