Thread: Where To Buy - Tent Pole Shock Cord

Heya.

I need to replace the shock cord in the poles of my car camping tent. I haven't been able to find some locally. I have checked REI, Sports Auth., Home Depot, Walmart, Ace...

Anyone know where I can find this stuff? I am in NCo SD.

A good fabric shop will have an assortment of round elastic.

Wilson's Eastside Sports in Bishop carries that shit.

Try to find a place where they sell cord by the foot cut off spools, not in packages. My local climbing shop has it, and I bet the local REI does, but haven't asked. Sometimes you need to get the one sales person that actually knows what is on all the spools.

The local mil surplus store also sells many types of cord, but I find the climbing shop is way better on price. Go figure.

I checked REI, all they had was the tent repair kits.

I am gunna check the navy/marine surplus store on the way home and possibly a fabric store if I can find one.

I noticed today that my local hardware store sells it by the foot.

We have some shock cord and other Outdoor Gear Care products like accessory cord, pack buckles, etc. If you can find it in our store we can possibly order it for you.

you sure ? local rei here sells it off the spool very cheap (surprising, i know). anyway, the hard part comes next, getting it right. buy more than you need.
