Canon Rebel Shutter Mirror Problem
So i've got an old canon rebel, around 9 years old, and the primary mirror?(if you take off the lens its the mirror at a 45) on the shutter is no longer attached and is just kind of floating around in there. is this something easily fixed at home, repair shop(who even does this kind of repair)? Even worth it?
Tried googling some info, but only came up with people who had problems with the secondary mirror.

No. it isn't worth it for a 9 year old camera.

Agreed. At 9 years old, it's not worth fixing. Count on $100-$200 in repairs. For $500-600 you can get a brand new one.
This is the worst pain EVER!

If you didn't already know about the Canon Loyalty Program this is a fine use for a broken camera. You can give them a call at (866)-443-8002 and tell them you have a broken Canon camera you'd like to use for the loyalty program.
Basically you can buy most any refurbished SLR and you'll get an additional 15% or so off the price. It's a great way to get a basically new camera at a fantastic price.

Figured that was going to be the consensus. Guess I'll start looking for a new body.

The mirror came loose on my 5D. I sent it to the shop.

Difference being the 5d is worth 700, the rebel worth 100.

Word. For that camera I'd just use some superglue and be done w/it.
