Need Right Replacement thumb shifter for Shimano Mountain LX 7-Spd

The 4 'pins' on the base of the right friction shifter sheared from a 'Cruiserfied '89 Bridgestone MB-4.

A replacement shifter would be ideal. Suggestions on compatible replacement options would be appreciated.

Plan C would be to simply epoxy the old shifter to the base to serve the same purpose as the 4 'pins'. Worth a shot or bad idea?

Expensive little bastards. But those old MB's are rad, I never should have sold mine.

Ha! When I ride around on this bad boy with the green and purple frame, I get in touch with my feminine side. The 80's color schemes seem to be making a come back, however.

I have a set of 7-speed XT thumbshifters that I'm about to put on ebay. Also have 1 extra shifter (XT, IIRC), without the base, just the shifter + 4 pins -- I think it's the front shifter though. Will have to check.

I may have a 7 speed thumb shifter from an old mx6. It is all plastic, though, not metal w/ rubber. So it's a bit flexy, but would prob. work. PM if you are interested.

My spare one (no base) is the front shifter, XT. I do have a complete set of XT though. PM if you're interested.

Did you get a chance to check out the 4 pins? I PM'd El C with no response.
