    Fox service?

I called Fox a month or so ago looking for a turnaround estimate on rebuild of an RC4, and had to leave a VM--someone got back to me a day or two later. I left another VM two days ago asking for a return authorization number to send my shock back, and still no response. Is this typical? Or is there a better number to call? I have never sent a shock back for rebuild--are they just super swamped in the summer? Just curious.

just hit "0" during the automated message. you'll go to an operator who will transfer you to bicycle service where you will sit on hold for awhile but eventually someone will pick up (rather than getting sent straight to VM).

If it's not under warranty you'll probably get better turn around time from Push. Not sure how far out they are scheduling right now though.

I had my 40 rebuilt by Fox about a month and a half ago. It did take two phone calls to get through but I was given an RA# instantly. The rebuild was completed in the time frame they stated which I belive was 10 days. It is a 2008 model that I had only replace oil and wipers on in the past. I had them install the new SKF seals and thing is absolutley amazing. I have had a couple people sit on the bike and grab the front brake to see how the shock feels and they told me my headset was loose. Its not, the initial movement of the fork is so smooth it just gives you that impression. I really would only be happier if they did it for free.

Sent my fork to fox last summer and it started leaking pretty quickly after I got it back (but not soon enough to send back again under repair warranty). Fork is currently with Push, I'm hoping they do better.

This guy is supposed to be a guru, especially with leftys. He's right around the corner from me, which means opposite coast for most of you. I can tell you he's the f'n drive-train whisperer when it comes to my road bike.

According to their website, they don't do DHX RC4s.

I thought of asking him, but I hate bothering him and I wasn't sure if he was equipped to work on rear shocks...

I don't see why he couldn't do it. Ricky does quality work, it just takes a while because of all the other stuff he has going on.

Yeah, Ricky is the man. Love that kid. He has a ton on his plate, so I feel guilty asking him to do menial bike repair. Not that rear shock service is menial, but in general...

This is no longer accurate. PUSH called us this week to say they are doing RC4s now (we were on the waiting list).

The PUSH guys really go above and beyond with customer service. They just turned around my dhx coil in 4 days and called to make sure I understood how to get the most out of it for the type of riding I do and to tell me I might want to consider using a heavier spring since I was having bottom out problems and had destroyed the bumper.
