Officially a wimp
Rode the Soquel Demo Forest this week, did the Sawpit loop. Have to admit that compared to that, the riding I routinely do around Boise is for pusesies. I've never walked DOWN so many lines, spent so much time on my ass, or been so sore from what is basicaly a 10-mile ride. Any of you who ride that regularly, you have my respect.

But you had fun, right? There are a couple techy sections where it helps to know what's coming, but you gotta love the high-speed single track through the redwoods.

^^^Riding something that challenges you and kicks your ass is usually the best way to improve your skill. But YMMV.

had a similar experience with a buddy when i rode tiger mountain(WA) coming from the from the buff single track land of wood river valley . we thought "oh 8 miles.....quick lil trail in a temperate rain forest, should get by with 40 oz of water". ended up fully SPANKED and dehydrated( i am sure we drank a bunch of PNW tasty beverages the night before). the kicker was getting passed by a father/son on a klien tandem- Straight up humility on a MF'n platter!
thank you jerry
