    Need a home phone

I need a home phone. Actually, I need three cordless phones. One gets plugged into the phoneline and the other two are just second handsets you can put anywhere.

But- I want to be able to turn the ringer off from any of them. Right now I have one of these, and the phone line comes in to the basement, so I have to walk all the way downstairs to turn the thing off every night.

Anyone know of a system where it is possible to turn the ringers off from the remote phone?

Uniden D1660-3. Any phone can silence the ringers system wide.

Panasonic has a few different Dect cordless phones that have 3 handsets. All use standard AAA rechargable batteries- so replacements are as expensive as those that take the special lithum batteries. I think most support their Silent Mode (but a few only list what Panasonic calls Night Mode which can only be set to turn off at a set times):

    Silent Mode
Now you can program each handset to ring or not at your discretion. For example, before you go to sleep, set the bedside handset to Silent Mode so that it wont ring for the duration of your slumber. In the meantime, the handset in another room is unaffected, and rings as usual.
