    Poor man's Thru-Axle....???

Hell, I got a screaming deal on an old school 9mm Fox TALAS fork. Think I am just going to run a solid axle on an XT disc, and see if it dont make my eyes twinkle and my smile brighter. Clamp the hell out of it (not too tight!) with big ol' ti nuts.

    I'll report my results ASAP!

Anyone here try this? (in the last ten years with 150mm forks!)

More like on the first MTB's, when ALL axles were 'thru-axles'

i specifically meant converting xt m755 high flange hubs to solid bolt-on axles because the hollow axles constantly broke.

    do it. its moar better.

you can always do basically the same thing with the specialized/rolf/ritchey scraxle or dt solid axle setups of course too.

I think pics would help. I personally have no idea how this is happening.

Replace the hollow axle with a longer, solid axle.

Ummm...Yeah, Yeah. That is the whole topic here. Good, concise summary.
