    TR: New Mex/Colorado Bike parkin

Props to everyone here who helped me plan this amazing trip. EDIT, now with more videos!
Saturday night, we went out to I Love this City SF in mountain view.

At 2 in the morning after the show, we got on the 5 and started for New Mexico. Desert desert desert, gas, methy trailers, desert desert, gas, tumbleweed, br, drive drive desert desert. 18 hours later we pulled into Taos, talked to some other riders at our motel and headed out to Angel fire in the morning. Great place, the base at 8.5k feet was punishing. Rocky as hell but with some great trails. Made me appreciate how difficult it is to rip through off camber bumpy traverses (not included in video due to slow-ness).
After Angel Fire, NM we dipped to Durango, CO. Drove over an awesome canyon, probably 450 feet deep. Pics soon. More desert, then mountains, lipper, sore hands on a shaking steering wheel, nature poo, finally arriving at a buddie's place in Durango.
Rode Log Chutes the next day- super fast loose awesomeness. Forgot to turn the camera on unfortunately.
After a rest day we drove to Grand Junction, CO to check out Grass Roots Cycles. The shop is awesome. Beautiful bikes, and Matt, the owner, offered to shuttle us and another rider Chris to the top of the Ribbon. See video #2. Amazing riding unlike anything I'd done before. Sandy turns, big rocky bits, and plenty of small drops to flat.
Finished up riding Grand Junction at sunset, hopped on the 70 and started towards Sol Vista. Ended up camping at 11k feet past Vail. Got to Sol Vista for a Thursday afternoon sesh, and Friday til the lifts closed at 6. Sol Vista is a real bike park. Highly developed bermy trails, perfect rolling terrain, and some big fuggin jumps. Good thing it was windy and clearly unsafe to attempt them...
Utah salt flats are really flat, really big, and nevada sucks. Click image for larger version.

Split up with Hunter, riding in front of me, to stay a few days in Tahoe. Great riding, tacky as even in 3 inches of snow! Click image for larger version.

You need to make the vids available to the public, not just your friends on facebook.

Angel Fire - Nice, looks like they added a few things since i was there last year. They should totally add more jumps to Candyland as well, looks like that wood thing was the only new feature. Those really long tables are pretty cool, but some flowy gaps would rule in that section, like 10 of em.
Grand Junction - did anyone attempt the gnar moves not in your vid? Ive had some pretty good crashes in there trying to clear everything, your vids had no falls! What did you hit at the bottom? Looks like you ran out of light, some crazy stuff down there too.
Sol Vista - nice Work! Especially on the wood drop, that thing is pretty intimidating. Looks like they changed the bottom section of jumps into gaps, nice.

Solid riding, awesome trip. Ill be heading from Cali back to CO sometime in the near future and am debating doing that trip again or going north through Wyoming instead.

What was your overall favorite? Sol Vista kill Angel Fire, or what?

Sol Vista is a legit bike park. Angel fire is great - it's got flow, its got gnar, but it is not built up like sol vista is. The giant tables at Angel Fire were incredibly fun, the big gaps at Sol Vista were SCARY. I would take Sol Vista over angel fire because of the build quality on the trails- the berms and jumps are too perfect.

    Dude, fucking strong work.

Maybe by the end of next summer I can hope to ride like that. Still doubtful though. Need a new rig first.
