The brakes are kind of by default... they were on the bindings, I took them to get mounted, they left the brakes on...

I may add some straps... you know, as a warning to all about my jongness.

Question... is the din setting number basically comparable on dynafits versus fritschis...

I told them to set it to 6.5 as that was where my fritschis were...

    Start off like that.

You know there are two adjustment screws on each heel (in addition to that for BSL)?

I'd imagine they'll be a disorderly line ASSisting?

I've always found the vertical release needs to be a tad higher than the rotational for reasonably consistent results.

Haha, I remember when I first realized that dynafits had two release settings...fortunately nobody was hurt, though my partner did have to dive out of the way to avoid getting bulldozed by a cartwheeling me. After finally extracting ourselves from 2' of the coldest, most-faceted powder I've skied in the PNW, he asked me what my vertical release setting was. Not super amused when I answer, "Uh...what vertical release?"

I'm just glad I decided to ski the chute and not air out the cliff...that could have ended very badly. Locked toes, but the shop-set 6 din vertical release = recipe for blown knee.

Take away: make sure you're comfortable with your new dynafits and their release settings before pushing them.

And yeah, there'll be plenty of people willing to assist you at ASS.

I am pretty sure I trust the shop to have set them at 6.5 like I asked, both the heel settings...They have a rentals with dynafits..

But yeah.. always careful with new settings.. The first time my Fritschis met powder I had to ski down from the 7th heaven chair, skiers right, where you hike up a little, whatever run that is, at stevens popping out every time I turned... sucked!

Hahahaha reading this thread 3 minutes ago is when I first realized that!!!!
I'd just recently skied them down Shasta and had no idea there was a vertical release value. Thankfully, they were set at 6 and I weigh like a midget. GI Joe ... knowing is half the battle ...
