Disclaimer: haven't tried them, but I can't see them being any good.

They don't have any grip for your index finger, thumb, and the part of your hand that connects the two. I don't hold on tight, but when you need to move the bike around dynamically, you need grip in that area; not blingy slippery aluminum. Additionally, having an aluminum core will transfer alot of shock and vibration into the hands, particularly through the slippery aluminum sections all over this "grip" that your hands are trying to hang onto.

I run a carbon dh bar and peaty lockons, which dampens the high frequency vibration (which aluminum grips will directly transfer), in order to have less tired hands. Tired hands plus slippery aluminum equals missing a slight correction at Mach schnel that means the difference between smooth as butter throught tech chunder and air with consequence, or lodging yourself in a tree. No thanks.

These look like crank bros 50/50's for your hands.

I'm sure it will make someone's hipster s/s look good though.

^ all of that were my exact thoughts before I tried them. I guess to each his own, but I have been running ODI lockons for years with ruffians, ruffian MX, yeti grips and I was certain these would have the problem of not having any grip at the forefinger/thumb connection.

Turns out they're still awesome. I wasn't certain of it at first, but now I'm a convert. I get less forearm pump through sections where you really hang on tight, and and the part where your hand touches aluminum seems like you'd get a lot of vibration, and you do get a little more than all rubber grips, but it makes you feel [fear of sounding like a hippie] more at one with your bike. [/fear]

maybe not everyone will love them, but I was pleasantly surprised, so just spreading the word
