#1 - Townie out back behind my apartment sunning himself this morning.

#2 - I had to go into work today and was super stressed. Cracked a beer and looked out the window for a couple minutes to cool my jets and figured "hey, this actually fits the MPC" so I grabbed a tripod and shot a replica of the scene. Doing that process in and of itself helped me mellow out and get back into the clusterfuck of a job.

3 days of stress relief last week:

I struggled with my creativity to come up with something for this. Thankfully BC Hydro opened the spillway on the Revelstoke dam for the first time in 15 years and fixed my lack of creativeness for me.

Just some doodling and drinking water with soy sauce in it relieves stress for me.
What if "Alternative" energy wasn't so alternative ?

However did you come up with that idea?
Nice pic, BTW.
It's pretty obvious I put 0 effort into mine. Just some pics from a weekend camping trip, but it was definitely a stress reliever. Getting drunk around a campfire with old friends is far less stressful than researching and writing procedures for contractors....Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain...

First day of summer. After work I headed out to the beach for some early coho. It has been a rough day at work. Set my camera up on a boogie board and took about 40 self timer shots and got a couple of good ones. This could be from the "of yourself by yourself theme." Definitely out of my comfort zone as far as capturing the image I wanted but i think I succeeded. Sure took some time to set up the shot. Had some fun and then a beer on the beach afterward. Actually surprise I got the fly in mid air.

Nice, I really like #3 but I may be biased. I think I'm about to pick up fly fishing again after a 10 or so year hiatus.

Yeah, I have not picked up my rod for a while now as well. These MPC's not only inspire good photography but pushes you out of the house to do shit. At least it does for me.
I had to laugh at the rig I used to take these shots. People on the beach could not figure out what I was doing with a boogie board floating behind me and a camera perched on the top. Constantly walking back to reset the timer. Must have looked pretty stupid to someone who had no idea what was going on.What if "Alternative" energy wasn't so alternative ?

So I lurk a lot in the photography forum, but don't post much. There are some awesome photographers on this board and frankly I don't think my work is up to par.
That said the last few weeks have been a whirlwind, with the birth of our son. When this MPC was posted I felt compelled to share a few photos from the last few weeks. It has been one of the craziest times of my life, but as I'm sure other parents can speak to within all the noise and sleepless nights a new baby creates the stress melts away into a beautiful tranquil moment when you hold your child for the first time. Life is rapidly changing and skiing/biking will take a back seat for awhile but the chaos disappears and I'm filled with a sense of peace and happiness when I hold this little dude. I'm excited for all the adventures we will share; the first time you make a turn on skis, the first time you go over the bars on your bike, the first time you realize the awe and beauty of nature, or when you catch your first fish. That said here are my overly sentimental submissions, go easy on me:
