You forgot this one. http://www.alpinezone.com/. Never been there myself but I've heard the moderation is top notch.

Hey, dusty, thanks for putting those pics up.

This place gets rough from now til the snow flies again.
Great stuff.

Why is he getting an "awaiting moderation" message when he tries to post the full TR?
It was worth reading the report anyway. Just being there would be rad. Stoked.
[Regarding the latest Saga: not that it needs defending, but the owner of splitboard.com forum has posted lots of TR's here, which add to the content value of TGR, which adds to viewer experience, which adds to the advertising value of the site. What goes around in the community should come around. It is all good]Last edited by neck beard; 06-04-2012 at 11:18 PM.

You should not have to double/triple/etc. post to share some stoke. The web is filled with links back to original source, get over it! Fortunately most have positive vibes on this thread, but it only takes one sometimes. Awesome stoke D, worth sharing for sure!

Sometimes the sausage crystals in the crap filter automoderate on different frequencies.
Fairly glaring first post spam links and, I believe, assloads of images are blocked until someone hits five posts or something.
On a really obvious spam post, mods see a 'moderated' tag and the thread isn't otherwise visible.
But after a few posts, a bunch of images posted can be seen by mods but the tag doesn't show, yet the filter catches them.
That leaves mods not knowing they aren't showing until somebody says something, usually the op.
It's a glitch that I've now seen twice. As soon as I saw dusty said they were awaiting moderation, the pics were approved so they'd show.

The pics are showing back on page 1, and they are awesome. As awesome as they were on splitboard.comLife is not lift served.

Yeh Thanks Splat. Commonlaw, I'm still looking/waiting for the second half of this TR to show up. I'm beginning to have faith though. I think the bleeding has stopped.
...and I'll know how to "Copy and Paste" posts next season.

Hang in there Dusty. I have no idea why your thread attracted the troll brigade but I, for one, hope that you continue to post here, in spite of the rather rude introduction.

Damn, dusty, my mod functions were messed up yesterday, today there's a short circuit in the matrix. Not sure I can pull that second half out of the void...unless you want to try to post it again. It should come up with no problem now.

Continued, finally
...and now that I feel a little practiced up, it's onto the big boys! Starting with
wait for it
The Tusk!
our first obstacle
and we're off!
To the top where Dean Cummings rope still hangs rotting on the rocks
and it's just a little steep
or is it just me?
Damage done (The Tusk took one knee out of six)
F-n STOKED!!!
The Tusk, 1900' N facing ramp of 50-60 degree vertical pitch
Then back to camp to dry out some gear
and off to DIMOND!!! (4000' at 55 degrees W facing fear of God)
where we met our first obstacle
and Eric's foot found free air and space under the bridge
but he pushed on
and mission aborted/crevasse abstraction narrowly averted
YES!
Time to climb!
and climb
Do Not look back, Never Look Back!
until you're over the top (3.5 hours of booting straight up later!)
where it's time to cheese it up
Oh Sh*t, this is it/last chance
Dropping
and Stoked to be at the bottom and ALIVE!!!
our lines over the Bergschrund
our hike up in blue and ride down in red
Back to my friends base camp for a celebratory beer
and then party at the Rendezvous Lodge (every bar should have a lit up Heli out the back window)
THEN... then it was time to cheat my way up to the next monster
METEORITE! 3000' W facing 54-57degrees of goodness
Looking down
or trying to anyways
and there goes our support
that's Alaska Snowboard Guides. They are a brand new Heli operation this season and if you ever get a chance to go Heli-riding in Valdez, Alaska... Go with them!
You too might get this
Well, that plum wore me out. And, my igloo has been devestated by the sun and turned into "The Deathstar"
'til next time, C-YA!Last edited by akdusty; 06-05-2012 at 01:10 PM.

Awesome TR (and I could care less about the original post being a link.. in particular given the folks that complain about that never even post TRs themselves). Nice work!

...and given that systembloweroff has been here since...wow 2010...it's pretty sad that all he can do is hate on someone posting some top-notch stoke while sounding like he was one of the founding fathers of backcountry skiing.
i too hope AK dusky continues to post here. those are some of the most incredible pics i've seen this spring, and there have been many incredile pics around here lately.
and that 'bloweroff gets back to the meds he seems to need. peace.

systemadvresblows has been here longer than you.
He generally means well, but can come across as a prick.
I am stoked that this TR is here now. It's awesome to say the least, and I love the climbing pics. I have no problem picturing myself riding this terrain. Climbing it is a whole other story for me.
