screws need to come out of my ankle, what's the recovery time?
I tore my achiles and broke the maleolis (medial) inside bone on my ankle last year. Had a repair on my tendon, Good, and two scres in my inside ankle bone. All is healed, but the area where the screws are hurts when touched and going down the stairs.
I am thinking of having the screws removed, doc says no big deal, but easy for him to say.
Anyone knows what the recovery time is, specifically how long non weight bearing?

Usually no weight-bearing restrictions after removal of medial malleolar screws - perhaps a restriction on sports, etc, to let the skin heal and the holes fill in a little. Of course, I would always defer to the surgeon who fixed it.

Didn't have the same injury but had screws (7) and a plate removed from my ankle last June. Non-weight baring was maybe two days. No pain except the incision. Doc is right, it was a piece of cake. Max two weeks before you'll be hard at it. My screws were in for about 4 years, so yours really should be easier to remove and less invasive surgery.
