Charlie Moore
Okay, the dude's a weirdo, not extremely-well-socialized, and just kinda off. I get it. But i still like his show, he makes me laugh. What's really funny is when he has a guest who obviously has never watched the show, you can see the deer-in-the-headlights look in their eyes, the slightly panicked looks at the other boat where the cameras are. I love that shit. Just watched him with ex-Red Sox player Brian Daubach, too funny. Especially snce Daubach finally relaxed and just hung out by the end. Good shit.

He is so nutty that it's good TV, so I like him.

I guess I understand that. Sorta in an over the top reality TV sort of way.
He IS what I think of when I imagine a stereotypical Red Sox fan though. Sorry.
I started my fishing addiction by watching Walker's Cay Chronicles, and Spanish Fly. They told a good story, and made me want to travel and fish.
Nowadays, all I can find are Charlie Moore, Bass Pro Tour, and Yoopers catching Walleye and butchering the english language. Where did all the good fishing shows go?
I think River Monsters is my favorite fishing show. That is sad.

He's a clown. Charlie is actually from my hometown and is a few years old than I am and graduated from High School with my buddies older sister, and my mom remembers teaching him in school. Said he was pretty quiet, kinda nerdy, and was always into fishing.
Like him or not, I'm pretty jealous that he gets to fish all day for a living...

He's such a chump. Had the "honor" of working on set at NESN with him a few years back. He's a clown and not in a good way.

Its definitely my favorite fishing show. Seriously, how many times can you watch a guy reel in a bass or trout. So, so boring. At least Jeremy Wade is willing to go for difficult and unusual quarry and does it in hot, buggy, infectious parts of the globe with huge crocs hanging out nearby. Sure he overhypes some stuff but he seems like a fairly tough dude who likes a challenge. I envision Charlie Moore shitting his pants and crying for his producer to take him home after a day or two in some of the rivers where Wade spends weeks at a time. It says a lot that Wade gets along with tribesmen and subsistence fishemen all over the world and Moore needs to go out and show off catching bass with has-been celebrities on a fancy bass boat. Ever see the River Monsters nile perch episode where Wade goes fishing with the locals in a hippo and nile croc infested lake using a one man raft made of a few sticks? Now that is some ballsy fishing. The locals were hauling a dead guy out of the water when Wade's crew showed up at one place. His soundman gets hit by lighting in another episode...these guys don't need to shout and yell to create drama (Wade will just solemnly intone some story of piscatorial death or mutilation). Call me when Charlie Moore catches a glyphis shark, a longfin eel or some gigantic catfish species I've never heard of before. Plus you never have to listen to Wade pimping his sponsors in every segment, that takes up about a third of some fishing showmercials.

I didn't know that Charlie Moore was on anywhere but NESN. I can see how you could really hate the guy if you were anywhere else in the country but New England. Here he's just a "charactah".

He's got a big show on ESPN that's mostly him shit talkin about how he's the world's most talented angler to never win a major tournament or set any line class world records. I read he's quitting fishing to go hollywood: a reality tv show or sitcom is his goal. Fishing show? His whole premise has been that fishing by itself is boring. I'd say River Monsters proves that there's still different ways to keep a rod and reel show interesting.
