RIP Doc Watson: tough year for acoustic music
Or bluegrass, or whatever you want to call it. Doc's playing was clean, articulate, fast and impeccably tasteful. He was, along with Earl Scruggs, one of the bridges between the old school and the new school. Here's an example, Doc playing one of his signature tunes with The Dawg, David Grisman:

Damn, huge loss. Had the privilege of seeing mpMr. Watson perform a couple times in my life. Great shows and an amazing musician.

OH NO!
That is really sad, he was one of my all time favorites.
His flat-picking, voice, persona.
Irreplaceable.
RIP Doc. say hi to Vassar for us.

Goddammit. I gotta stop buying tix for shows that get cancelled/I blow off for various reasons.
Loved the Doc. Hope he keeps pickin' where he ends up.
