+1. I try not to post in threads when I have nothing to contribute other than to say thanks. But since it appears we need more people to do that, I'll start chiming in. Some of these pics elevate my heart rate and make my palms sweat. Definitely need to figure out how to find some partners and elevate my ski mountaineering next season.
Lee - the crevasse crossings in that vid scared me quite a bit. Sick though!"Alpine rock and steep, deep powder are what I seek, and I will always find solace there." - Bean Bowers

TRs/photos/videos like this are why I am where I am today, yet still have so much to learn. Thank you, LeeLau, and all other stoke-providers.
I think the potato gun proved the stability.

The video did not disappoint. Is it time for winter yet?
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.

Agreed, awesome. Whoever thought of using "goin' against your mind" is a genius. A great song to get stuck in your head when you need to get stoked. Fuck yeah!

Sweet stuff, Lee! Happy to see you posting your usual brand of awesomeness. I understand your disdain for the shitshow that this forum has so much of but buried inside it all, there's still some really great stuff coming out. Yours is clearly up there. Thanks!

Saw the photos from this earlier, quite mindblowing stuff! Would be puckered lingering around there for so long! Impressive stoke.

dont know how exposed those lines are, but going 2/3 way up with the chopper and making a big thing about it?
going up there without assistance'd be a noticeable thing. but skiing straight a ~50° line with heli transportation is a smaller achievement, by far.
but anyways, a nice line+video.

i like lee's trs that include his heart rate, elevation change, distance and all that stuff along with the pics. haven't seen one like that here for a long time, but i'm thinking the ones i did see may have been on his website.

I kind of agree but then you get into where do you draw the line? They did base their camp at about 2000m which still means 1200m straight up of climbing. Guessing here because that's where I'd camp if i was them and it looked like the flat part of the icefield. To walk in from W would be about 3-4 days and then 2 days at least to get out. To walk in from E would also be about 4 days - maybe 5 and the same time to get out. And that's from logging roads in the W and the Columbia Icefields Parkway in the E so at least you would use a car.
Klar writes so much better than me it is more than a bit humbling yet inspiring all rolled into the same time
