    Wasatch Crest Trail, UT

Will the Wasatch Crest trail be clear of snow by mid June this year?

I'm guessing today's snow won't help. Was even snowing in town in Park City this afternoon.

I'm from Southwest BC so i get my fill of slow, technical rides. I'm stoked to hit some high speed flowy, alpine single-track. I prefer to earn my turns i.e. all day epics so I'm not looking for the lift access downhill scene.

If you can swing a ride back up, or have the legs to get back, I'd suggest Crest to Mill D. I don't care where you're from, Mill D is a hoot.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

If you want to stay on the Park City side, and are looking for a 4+ hour epic, may I suggest the following:

    Armstrong (up only)
    turn left onto Mid Mtn
right turn onto Powerline (becomes Comstock)
climb up to the Shadow Lake Loop and up to Scott's Pass
up Puke Hill to the Wasatch Crest
eventually turn right onto Ride Connector and scoot down to Mid Mtn again
    Right onto Mid mtn
Back across Mid Mtn to Spiro
Left onto Spiro and back down to Park City

This is a ~35 miler with ~4000' climbing. To make it longer, instead of descending Spiro, cruise on over to Deer Valley on the Mid Mtn trail and try some of the trails out there. Could be a 50-60 miler in no time if you like.

This link will help you navigate the above mentioned trails. Absolutely super website. A lot of work went into this: http://skidmap.com/

I like in PC and ride these trails a ton. Shoot me a PM if you have questions.

Personally I think it's more fun to go Canyons->Mid Mtn->Crest->Canyons, but looping the Crest and Mid Mtn is fun no matter how you slice it.

i did a super sweet variation of this loop yesterday.

    up armstrong
    left on mid mountain
    up cresent mine grade
    up apex
    up keystone
    up shadow lake
    up puke hill
    along wasatch crest
    down ride connector
    down ambush
    up rosebud heaven
    down colins to canyons

then rode the free bus back to Park City

6 hours of singletrack! Park City is truly world class.

And just think, you just got a teaser of what there is around town. We are blessed with alot of great X Country riding. Down side is that it is becoming discovered and I've had to turn it down a notch because there are now other people on the trails.

Which reminds me that all of the best riding is in corner canyon and you all should go there or mueller park when in town. The views are unsurpassed as is the riding!!

this is my favorite way to ride the crest. and if you're not riding it from town, you're doing it wrong

also, can anyone confirm that this is up there, a buddy posted this today on facebook

I can't wait for this lift, its going to be so awesome at the can can when they add another downhill lift :rolleyes

Park City is great, but have you actually been to Corner Canyon lately? Quality wise the PC trails really have nothing on CC (unless blown out moon dust is your thing, ie. Flying Dog until probably October.) Jacobs Ladder to Ghost Falls may actually be one of the best xc descents in Northern Utah. The views of Lone Peak up there aint too shabby either. Quantity of trail is where PC is unmatched.

I'll echo Finstah's comment about Jacobs Ladder>Ghost Falls. Great riding area!

Back in Vancouver now and missing PC already. After 100+miles of sunny, self powered single-track in 3.5 days, i'm happy to recover the legs at work. Props to White Pine Touring for the wicked trail beta and a good deal on a rental bike (free!).

For the record, Deer Crest trail to Spin Cycle and of the course the Wasatch Crest variation was total money.

Maybe I'm just an east coast snob, but I found Corner Canyon pretty boring. And too crowded, for a week night. Little Cottonwood was a blast however, especially the upper part.

And yeah Skidmap.com is absolutely awesome. Used it to navigate the massive network of Moab trails flawlessly. Does anyone know of something like that for other states, say AZ, CA or CO?

You did it wrong in Corner Canyon.

There is no "upper part" of the LCC trail. Remember?
