    Needham, MA fishing opportunities?

Heading to Mass this weekend, my wife is coaching a soccer team in a big tournament there. I'll be free most of the time to do as I please. Any decent fishing opportunities there? I don't need to fish trout to have fun. bass, pickerel, big perch, big panfish are fun too. Anyone in this area or have any info to share? I'd be willing to drive an hour or so to find good fishing.

Yeah there's lots of water in and around Needham, I'd think that the Charles River would be the most fun if you can get a canoe or a kayak. Lake Waban and Morses Pond are decent-sized bodies of water. The Charles River Dam in south Natick is right on Rte. 16 and basically next door to Needham, there's a parking lot there or at least there was.

If you want to go out on the ocean there's charters and party boats in a lot of spots within an hour of needham, I've gone from the town dock in Plymouth a few times and had fun. I think there's boats in Scituate and Marshfield as well and I'm sure there's others. And it's only about 70 miles from Needham to Hyannis as well.

    Vin,
If you can make it to carver,Ma. My mom runs an Inn there on Samson's pond. Holds both the new england states record for large mouth. 16lbs and change both. Grab a kayak and go hit the weed beds and coves. Her cove holds the most consistent size. Call me if you go. Frog patterns and poppers as well bunny strips and pike flies kill it there.

^^^^ you need to go to the Farmington, NW CT tail water. Big fish, lots of guide shops. Seen plenty of 20+" bows and browns

Oh hell yea, I live on a lake so I go out there a lot. But I go to the farmington soooo much, and salmon brook which is a nice stocked stream. I do live in NW Connecticut haha.
