Mammoth-area hiking & biking for Memorial Day weekend 2012
Any suggestions for Mammoth-area hiking/biking for Memorial Day weekend? If we go, we'll camp along the scenic loop.
Our earlier idea of White Mountain peak isn't going to work; too much snow on the access road. So I'm looking for lower-elevation stuff that is melted out. I'm also not familiar with mountain biking trails around Mammoth, so if anyone has suggestions for XC trails (not shuttle-assisted), I'd appreciate it.

I'll be skiing the frozen slush bumps tomorrow if anyone wants to link up. Not the most ideal day but that's all I can get.

was suppossed to be off this weekend, but may be lurking aroung the hill if I am not needed much. Wind is howling, and is getting colder. The golfing at sierra star hasnt been half bad. For skiing, we will just have to see. Hiking, I have been to both Parker and Sardine lakes off the June lake loop. Sardine can be reached via the walker lake trail head/Mono pass trail. Stuff has been melting out but some nice deep patches on the trails still lurk.
Whoa, what you gotta say?? Whoa, girls turn 18 every day!!!

Looks like the closer could be fun.
This map changes, but right now it's saying snow in Mammoth on Saturday.
