There are others, but here are a couple of Tabke at Verbier in 2011 and 2012 - pretty sure both are on Protests.

    Tabke POV:

Random video fron YouTube (no idea who is skiing )

If you want some POV from a mediocre 56 year old, let me know

    Thanks a lot, Spindrift!

Nothing wrong with being a mediocre 56 year old. I'm an average 48 year old myself and can only hope to be mediocre at 56.

    Thanks again Spindrift.

Finally had time to watch all the footage you posted, and it answered a lot of questions. I absolutely love the way Tabke skies in that 2011 Verbier video. Is he a surfer? Looks like it to me.

I know this sounds preposterous, because Bec des Rosses is uber-gnar to the point of being ridiculous, but in character it's a lot like what I ski in NZ; variable snow, tight and tricky alternating with open and fast. Happy to see the Protests shine in those conditions.

Pre-Ordered up my 194 Freerides w/carbon layup, medium/stiff flex last week. Keith is great to work with and very stoked all around on this ski- custom options pushed me over the top. Looking forward to adding these as my mid-quiver driver / touring rig this season, replacing some 191 shoguns. Will add reviews in time.

Driver, so envious...! Talked to Keith about this ski and so badly want to pull the trigger on 194 Freerides with medium - stiff flex... I already have a pair of 186 ON3P Viciks that I absolutely love, but would like a bit of additional length and width hence the excitement for the 194 Freeride... Still on the fence... I bought the 191 Billy Goat last year and loved it and pulled the trigger on the 192 Mr. Pollard Opus - have never owned a ski like this and was just looking for something a little easier going and fun when not on the Billy... Still thinking about the Freerides, but if I dont pull the trigger def. will be interested in your review... Congrats...! Prazis is puttling out some killer boards...

Pre-ordered the 190 bc with medium/stiff flex (carbon included). Gonna mount them with the new ntn freedoms. This setup will drop a pound per foot compared to the big mountain 110s and regular ntns that I have been touring a lot with.

    Stoked!

Looking to preorder a pair of Praxis Protest 177. Should I go soft flex or medium flex? 130 pounds, Level 7/9 skier. This ski will be used for what is was designed to do ... charge and stomp.

Worth mentioning there's just one more day left on the preseason sale. Keith sounds reasonably firm on the date.

Also, FWIW, based on a post on the Praxis FB wall - Tabke seems pretty stoked on the MVP and the Yeti for their respective missions.

    Just a heads-up.

If you miss out on the pre-season sale, or if you need a pair asap for SA or NZ, get in touch with Keith.

I just got a pair of 187 woodgrain (a'la Ullr) Protests. Last season's yes, but with carbon lay-up and at a very good price.

And holy mackerel are they sweet looking skis!

Ordered them last Thursday, and they were here this Tuesday! Very nice work indeed.

Edit: And Hohes, I'm hoping to come and ski them in your backyard next March. Sausages crossed....

Protests will like Hakuba. Rock on up.

And again that is seriously fast shipping. Order ski, US to NZ, then Bang! On the snow.

Yeah - that is probably worth re-mentioning on a couple fronts.

My understanding is that Keith has an assortment of last year's stock left. Notably some Powder Boards. So if you are looking for something for immediate use - if he has it and the flex/art works for you, you can get pretty much instant shipping for Southern Hemisphere use.

Also worth noting is that last year's "stock" Protests and Powder Boards were made with a translucent UHMW topsheet. I love that material - never seen anything like it. Tough as nails and looks good too IMO. I wanted to get a few pairs of this year's stuff made with it and Keith told me it was not possible - mainly due to vendor logistics issues (yes, I am a total gear whore - but in my defense I just ordered skis for 4 of us in my household...). So not only is some stock available, but a portion of it has what I consider the best topsheet material I've ever had on a ski. My guess is that if Praxis had a real marketing department and they were doing it right, folks would be lining up to pay extra for skis with these topsheets.

Pretty funny - little did I know when I sang the praises of the remaining 2012 UHMW topsheet Protest and Powder Board stock that Keith would throw them up on sale pretty much the next day. Go figure...

    http://praxisskis.com/shop/index.php...emart&Itemid=3

(at least for me, there seems to be some sort of cookie related error message that seems not to matter to anything as far as i can tell...)

quick additional comment: unless Keith moved the boot center punches mid-season last year, I am a fan of the following mounts for the 2012s. On the 190 and 180 Powder Boards, go 3cm forward of the punch. I started +1 on the 190s and cloudpeak started +1 on the 180s. I was a fan, but decided to try a bit forward. Cloudpeak was sure she wanted a bit more forward. +3 took the skis from great to magic IMO. On the 187 Protests, I'd go +1 (where Blister reviewed them) or maybe a bit forward of that if you are more of a progressive type. Just one guy's opinion... And as usual with mount points, YMMV...

Just pre-ordered some 187 medium/stiff MVP's with carbon and the Buck's Beach topsheet. Was going back and forth between this and Protest but realized that I'll likely be skiing more variable than pow for the next couple years. Super stoked on my first pair of Praxi. They're going to look sick with some orange FKS 180s on them.

My only slight concern with this ski is the seemingly large amount of tail rocker. Hoping the rise is subtle and doesn't lend itself to too much of the snowlerblade effect.

I have the mtn jibs (the predecessors to the mvp), and although they do have a lot of tail rocker, the rocker throughout the whole ski is fairly subtle, but very effective. I ski fairly centered and two footed, especially in powder, and they float incredibly well. I also haven't noticed any issues with the wheelying out on landings both off booters or cliffs. Unless you're always in the backseat, I really would consider it a non-issue. Praxis skis kick some serious ass, and with the addition of carbon fiber to this ski, I can't imagine how much more awesome it is going to be! Congrats, and enjoy them!

Not that it needs repeating, but Keith is a helluva guy.

Also pulled the trigger on some 187 MVPs. Medium stiff with the carbon fiber layup. Super stoked on this ski, with all the custom options I wasn't able to resist. My friend has some pow boards and the quality seems top notch. Not that concerned about the amount of tail rocker either.

Spats, please post your impressions of them once you have been out a bit. That is one of 3 skis I am looking closely at for next year and I like the flex from afar. My gear budget is blown for this year. Praxis really has done an amazing thing in offering the flex choices through their line.

Looks like Keith is doing his version of a labor day sale on the 11/12 stock.

    http://praxisskis.com/shop/index.php...emart&Itemid=3

FWIW - to reiterate what I said before, I think the 11/12 Powder Board and Protest UHMW topsheets can't be beat if the flex sings to you. Tougher than nails & look good too...
