I'm 6' and it looks too big for me.

No idea if it is DW or Horst. how do I tell?

I bought/traded for it and now I'm thinking it's too big.

This 5spot is the old horst link bike:

This one is the DW link. It has the elevated chain stay synonymous with the DW link design:

What does a hooker cost in Durango nowadays? I am tempted to throw some cash at you.

no thanks on the trade Z. thanks though.

    other trade ideas?
    raft oars (8.5-9')
29er (I'd be down with throwing down some cash)
    alpine/AT boots in a 27-27.5.

    otherwise just make an offer.
will also split the cranks & bb off 'cuz a friend may want 'em. so feel free to just make an offer for the frame alone

Turner has used all sorts of suspension designs through the years. I could be mistaking, but I don't see a Horst link on the blue bike Trench Town posted above. A Horst Link is a pivot close to the rear axle located on the chainstay. Bikes with the pivot located on the seatstay are actually masked single pivots commonly referred to as "faux bar" designs (as opposed to a Horst link "four bar.") Turner made lots of faux bar bikes in the mid 2000's.

yeah, i am pretty sure that the turner horst link 5 spot that i got in 2005 was their last horst link bike, then they went to the TNT or something like that. arty50, being the Homer that he is, would know for sure.

Guilty as charged. I don't remember the years involved nor do I know all the other little changes that occured over the years, but Finstah covered it well. Turner got sick of paying for a license for the Horst patent and switched to TNT/faux bar for a few years. Then they went DW.

Tech Tonics, you really should post pics. Optionally, you can call Turner and ask them about their frame trade-in program. Basically, you send them your old frame, and they give you a nice discount on a new one.

That's one of the last years with the Horst Link. You can tell by the polished rear triangle and built in chainstay protector. Great bike.
