Jackson Trails - comprehensive thread
I gotta get to Jackson to ride. It will probably be early July with a small group.
I figured we could use a comprehensive thread where Rideit tells us what's up.
Can someone please post some links to detailed trail information?
What are the top 5 'must ride' trials in that area that are climb up, then bomb down style?
Gracias

That's cool. Good group of people there and some sweet photos. Is there a site showing where those trails are?

If you want the most up to date maps, hit up a LBS in Drictor or in Jackson.

Yep. Fitzgeralds (I think?) on the Idaho side, or Wilson Backcountry Sports on the Wyo side.

One or more of the Pass downhill trails, although I'd hitch up for those
Arrow-Snotel-Phillips Ridge
Mill Creek-Sidewinder and back down, 4000+ vert., but only rideable up when Targhee isn't running lifts.
Mail Cabin to Mike Sell
Ferrins on Snow King, although Ferrins to W. Game to Cache is a better ride.
For ride up, bomb down, ride back up, bomb back down: S. Fork Horseshoe-S. Canyon Creek-N. Canyon Creek-Mahogany Creek.

Butt Mudd,

You should really consider Sun Valley.

I pedal, but more into the DH than the pedal part. I've got a 6.5" travel bike.
That map is perfect. You guys are lucky to have such a sweet trail network that you can shuttle.
Are there any big rides that are at JH resort?

Jh resort rides for now are bubble gum and lollipop runs under Après Vous, basically pretty chill with some super fun jumps and berms. No xc out there at the moment.

There isn't a longer lift next to AV, really, besides Casper. I'll ask around, I hadn't heard that. Rumor I keep hearing is that there next goal is the Gondola, but I imagine they are a long way out from that.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'll ask here: What's the status of the trails off Teton Pass?
Did you fellas get hit with snow this past weekend like Bozeman did?
A crew from up there is looking to make a day trip and we need some beta on the trails off the Pass.
Gracias.

Jimmy's mom down, good to go. Fuzzy/lithium, likely a few weeks out still, I'll ask today.
I would imagine Phillips Ridge (am/XC) is good to go as well. Lots of dry XC in both valleys if y'all swing that way.Last edited by rideit; 05-31-2012 at 11:02 AM.

Harlan and the boys are doing a bunch of work up there between Jimmy's /history gap area, I imagine there is plenty to sesh between that, parallel, and the powerline jumps.

Is there much on the pass for beginner riders? Possibly planning a trip with the lady friend who enjoys flow and small jumps. It's sound like JHMR has exactly this? Just wondering if there's some stuff on the pass that she could ride as well if we didn't want to pay for a lift ticket.

Yes, plenty for her. Jimmy's and parallel have b-lines, and blacks and everything on the Phillips side is intermediate XC, IMO.

I need intermediate DH, she's not a fan of the uphill.

Sounds like Targhee and the Village would suit her best...
