Small Stream, Small Fish.
Southcentral Pa is littered with trout streams, from the world famous like the Letort, Big Spring, to tiny mtn trickles that are easily overlooked. Was in the mood for something different, something off the beaten path this weekend, so I snuck out to the local state forest for a bit of exploring. I've ridden along this stream countless times on the mtn bike, cross country skied along it in the winter, finally took the time to explore it with a flyrod.
First fish of the day.

Where the one piece 5'/3wt really shines.

Up in the rhodo tunnel.

This little fella was living in the shadows.

A little bit of open water.

Brookies sure are purty.

Beautiful underwater pics tomicogs....those are the tigers of their pockets.
*On my way to TN to pick up an OC-1..~4yrs ago I stopped in Carlisle, PA and tried to find some streams...but it was a wkend of college incoming. Winging it on the fly, without a map, failed...gotta grab a map or two next time...but DID see one limestoner, with little walkway over it, meadering right through town & out. Could instantly see where they easily pick out intruders either visually or by the smallest of wakes...
That's a nice fish from a small backcountry stream MeadowSkipper.
