Cinco de Maggo in Mammoth aka Romancing The Thaw
There might have even been siete or ocho, but a gaggle of mags still hoping to get their nickel's worth of winter happened to be around and coalesced for a few runs, so we got some pics. Top of the mountain was 22 degrees with a stiff wind that froze things like a tossled hairdo with cement gel, so we chased the thaw to find slushable carve whenever we could. Race runs were clear and fast for bomber gs turns when the slush got old. Beyond that, it was all about hangin' with mag friends on fairly gnarless terrain and having fun.
Our favorite Jersey mob consigliere Joey Bag O' Doughnuts...
Even MIA prisoner of the computer wars at work (he can't log on to TGR anymore) Gebster was around.
Surprise appearance by telemarktips.com superstar Big Tim slaying the slush vegan style...
Shaded to conceal his true identity, jla tests the thaw in the shade of teh trees.
Followed by Vets, who is in patch training for the summer.
And some geriatric fellow in a tux, who apparently thought Cinco de Maggo was a formal event.

It's always a kick to ski with fellow mags. I've noticed that I can't ski Mammoth without bumping into a few. Must be the town and resort being so central to each other, even though most people come all the way from LA.
Closing day....sounds like a party is in order!
