    WTB: time cleats

I'm not willing to pay $40 to ride a really old pair of pedals. Anybody got used ones to part with cheap?
But Ellen kicks ass - if she had a beard it would be much more haggard. -Jer

I ride them and I have to say if the pedal isn't super beat, the $40 is actually hella worth it. Also, the little platform under the wires tends to wear more on the outside and if that is the case with yours, you can swap the platforms around the pedals to get the wear spot on the inside and the pedals will feel almost new again. Oh, and if the use dcleats are worn to much the chance of accidental ejection goes up and well I have done that and it ain't worth it! The float on the old times rocks and I can't really ride anything else.

I've never ridden clipless on a mountain bike, the pedals are pretty haggard. I'm not even sure where they came from, I found them in my parts box. I can get shimano pedals new with cleats for less than a set of time cleats so I'm not looking to make an investment.

I've got a lightly used set I'd be happy to send your way. As long as we're talking ATAC cleats here.

Wow, $40 for Atac cleats? Last I was aware they retailed for $30. Join a local riding/trail advocacy group, or make nice with the guys at your local shop, and new ones might be less. Baked goods in the morning trump beer in the afternoon - at least for the guys I work with...

The cheapest shipping option on those is $21 to AK. They'd fit in an envelope but that isn't an option.

oops, I forgot to check that... lame! good luck. Are bike shop prices higher in general up there due to shipping and whatnot?

Buy a clock from Ridenot and have him toss some cleats in there!!!
