Photo TR: Long Board Day -Alpental - 2012
Here's an old school photo TR for those who remember what that is.
It's hard to imagine a LBD more fun that today's. We'll just have to try and outdo it next year.
Oftpiste and Cuzinick got it started off with breakfast.

Everybody busted out their sweetest threads.

Ms. Dromond spent a lot of time on her outfit.

But soon we had to live up to our promises and do the deed....

That meant going huDgE on 210s!

Clouds kept the snow in perfect shape for ripping it up....

Tools of the trade.

Cuzinick has been practicing his LBD form all winter.

Alpenchronichabitual knows how to get in close for the cameraman.

Ms. Dromond showing an admirable amount of confidence while dropping into Nash on skis that are nearly as old as she is.

the chaos ran all the way down the fall line.

Greydon Clark - the godfather of LBD - questions his choice to only tele on 220s.

Joy/relief at the bottom of upper Nash. Cuzinick had to call home to say that he made it.

Greydon call his line.

I was told that elevator was skiing great. Despite my hesitation I joined in and found the snow to be just right.
Mofro skis in camo so that no one follows him as he threads the needle.

Even without the pelt, Z-Bp has the magic.

A lot of interesting choices were made today. Like Peaches n' Cream's choice of LBD as his second ski day of the year.

Angulation is key when skiing ze steeps.

Shin-to-win came in to this one pretty hot.

Nutrion and hydration are key to a day of epic shredding. We all chowed on some delicious smoked salmon that was graciously provided.

One can only pose for so long in a foggy parking lot, so we headed back to the slopes.

Oftpiste was declared the King of Long Board Day for his supreme style.

Those tails'll getcha!

There was some trepidation as the bumps grew in size.

Felsen satisfied our needs for inbounds steep skiing.

Greydon gets down on LBD.

I wonder how many jumps turns were made today....

We shredded so hard that we needed a refuel.

Then it was back to killing it.

The Queen of LBD exhibited excellent form only 3 weeks after giving birth!

What is happening in this picture?

It's probably for the best that the patrol was nearby....

And G pulled perhaps the most epic crotch grab of the day......

The day was made even better with what might be LBD's first foreign participant. Gary From Terrace really knows how to giv'er!

Great day, everybody! I need to go put the summer wax on my 210s....

cue the music:
And, long board day opens to cloudy skies.
rain on the way up, stops just short of Alpental road
The early line up is impressive.
This stunning display of longboardery only represents half the participants
Telemark is also well represented
PeachesN'Cream declares longboards good
Mr. Keg arrives early with Workinforturns
Ready to go!
A good representation, however missing a few key OG longboarders who weren't present for the picture
A few laps are turned lower mountain, then it's time for the padded seats of Chair 2
Z-bo looks on as Buster hits Nash
Dromond demonstrates how well cambered, non rockered, long boards can slarve
Z-bo, -h-, and Ol'Moss-Back, take a mid mountain break
Then it's back to the lift and time to ski some more
Mofro taking the direct line into Nash,
yes folks, this right here is how it's done
Z-bo greases a landing in Elevator
Going down!
In the meantime, Dromond shoots pictures of fellow longboarders,
blissfully unaware of the creepy cross-dressing naughty nurse, and what appears to be a polyamorous santa
A good representation of OG and new LBD friends,
Mofro warms up for some LBD ballet
Back to the LBD zone for some carbo loading/hydration with Mr. Keg
Why yes, I will have another
Godfather of LBD, Greydon Clark
proudly displays that he's been to Vail
OG Alpental represents,
If you haven't seen these two at one time or another,
then you aren't local or regular
Mags are well represented
as well as many non mags...
Including a record turn out in the estrogen department
Greydon displaying an impressive example of a gangloot
Represent!
The head of a full contact ballet skier was placed upon a longboard pike
to ward off any snolerbladers or short skier types
Beers, brats and brownies consumed, it's time for another lap
Shin2win channels Ronnie James Dio, while Bono looks on
Oftpist styles it up old school,
displaying his evident excitement for LBD
Ever the LBD party wall flower
As authentic as it gets, Buster and Oft ham it up
Ol'Moss-Back and Oftpist make their return after years away
The Greydon clan get's the trophy for best attendance by a singe family,
too bad -m- couldn't attend, it would have been a full house of Team Cousin
Greydon poses amongst a sea of steezy fartbags
PeachesN'cream demonstrates the thermal qualities of the fartbag,
"yes, that is steam rising off of my back"
Non mag -n- finds another thing he has in common with Sorrybro, beer!
Good times with good friends
This years LBD by the numbers:
• I personally skied just short of 20k in vertical
• Mofro, Z-bo, Shin2win and Workinforturns probably skied double that
• There was forecast for 35% chance of rain, 0 fell
• The first 12 cars in lot 4 were LBD participants
• _____ oz of beer was consumed (can't even began to guess, everyone brought their own, and then there was Mr. Keg (Thanks again to Workinforturns)
• Longest trip award by a PNW Mag goes to garyfromterrace, he drove from here
• Return mags to LBD award goes to Oftpist and Ol'Moss-Back, for their first LBD in five years
• I counted 20 mags in attendance which also made this one hell of a fun mini-summit
• There were another 15 non mag's participating
• 5, the highest number of female participants ever recorded
• All 2170 vertical feet of Alpental skied very, very well
Thanks to all who attended.
For those who didn't but wanted to, start looking for your 210's > now, for next yearLast edited by AlpenChronicHabitual; 05-02-2012 at 09:43 AM. Reason: Edited to add TR content

Goddamn what a fun LBD!
Great ratio of spring skiing:drinking the keg of Outburst (that 8.5% caught up to me by the last run) and a proper turnout, glad to see so many familiar faces and to meet some new ones. Maybe best conditions ever for the longboards to do their thing in mmmmm Elevator.
Keep looking out for 210cm+Move upside and let the man go through...
