Wow, yeah, the bird really wants outta this season, and now, eh!
I guess I could be reading more into these recent decisions than is warranted, but then again, maybe not.
A week and a half ago, the bird did four things they've NEVER done in the 28 yrs I've been skiing there:
1)shut down 4 lifts, or conveyances, for the season right BEFORE a weekend, instead of waiting for the extra dollars a weekend usually brings.
2)closed perv tunnel, perv, gad 2 & baby thunder for the season, AT THE SAME TIME!
3)was the earliest season closing date ever for any of those lifts (2nd week of April), which then also
4)became the earliest date ever to allow chair passes to be used on the tram.
Based on these actions, do the tea leaves suggest no Memorial weekend skiapalooza this year?

Well since the site now says closing on May 13th (ver bottom of page http://www.snowbird.com/events/eventcalendar.php) i doubt anything for memorial day.. In fact up til about a week and a half ago it was closing on may 20th. For some reason i thought peruvian was down for maintenance. I mean you can ski right into that terrain from the tram so its not a coverage thing.
But i agree...slow year..glad I didnt buy a combo pass.

my plan to head from the new orleans jazz and heritage festival to SLC to ski the bird is fading fast. Was looking at the 10th and 11th of May. Worth it snow wise to ship gear from the EC to make turns on what's left? I have to be in SLC for the weekend anyways.

there is no lack of snow , especially since they did snowmaking until february, they just realized they lost more money this year than it would have cost to build their mountain top restaurant to steal more business away from themselves.

Im ready to hit the reset button, bring on summer so we can get to next season.
If ski companies didn't make new skis every year I wouldn't have to get new skis every year.
