Levon Helm...
Not doing so well: http://www.levonhelm.com/
Bummed I blew off going, despite having tix, last time he played at Wolftrap. No way I was talking my wife into sitting in 100deg. heat with 90% humidity. Ah well.Dear Friends,
Levon is in the final stages of his battle with cancer. Please send your prayers and love to him as he makes his way through this part of his journey.
Thank you fans and music lovers who have made his life so filled with joy and celebration... he has loved nothing more than to play, to fill the room up with music, lay down the back beat, and make the people dance! He did it every time he took the stage...
We appreciate all the love and support and concern.
From his daughter Amy, and wife Sandy

This one is hard.
Levon has been such a beacon all these years. I can't even count the number of times his music put a smile on my face. Practically the soundtrack of my life.
Last I knew he had a slipped disc and was only gonna be down for a few weeks. Lots of good vibes to his family during this tough time.
Fuck cancer
Fuck cigarettes

They should serve him Robbie Robertson's heart on a platter with some fava beans and a nice Chianti. I feel pretty certain this would cure him.
Shitty news. He made one hell of a comeback after his first bout. Makes me even more bummed that I didn't catch his show here a couple years ago.Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Virgil Caine is the name...
+++vibes+++The blues has always been about taking your problems and turning them into something you can dance to, drink to and fuck to.
We're certainly not a blues band in any kind of purest sense, but to me Rock and Roll has always had it's roots in that tradition.

Seems like Levons family is alright with Robbie.
