what's the difference between the trance and the trance x? I'm in the market for an "aggressive" AM bike and I'm looking for something that climbs pretty ok, and I can jump. Moving from an Iron Horse 6point that I've really liked, it's just heavy and getting a little long in the tooth. Was thinking about a spec enduro or maybe a reign, but you've intrigued me. I must say, I'm intrigued.

Trance X has a higher component spec, basically. I built this one up from the frame, so it's kinda moot. this Trance with the 36 TALAS is an absolute crusher, pedals way better that the reign (IMO), is a good pound lighter,( I have it built to ~30) but still has plenty of travel. It is nimble and capable. I call it the Porcupine Killer because it is so versatile. I think Marshal has some time on this configuration, and approves....
(caveat, needs a TALAS cart. overhaul)Last edited by rideit; 04-13-2012 at 11:13 AM.

What's the consensus on a 160mm fork on this bike? I'm also quite intrigued. Wish I could ride it before I make a rash decision.

Well, it's a TALAS, so it is 100, 130, 160. i run it at all travel a lot. Super versitile, and can be one of the lightest 5"/6" bikes out there...or a burly thang. Currently running 2.5 Minion dual ply DH tires, just to give you an idea.

I'm pitching the bike hard to a few folks. If I wasn't already building up the near exact same thing (similar build, ASR5) I would've bought this.
Sweet frame, good build, all that great stuff."Vagenius"
