What is deemed to be a legal addition for length modifications? I've searched every value village thrift store play it again sports from Everett to Seattle without finding any 210s. Do all "improvements" to ski have to be permanent. Or can I just add some participant award trophy's to the tails and call it good?

FWIW, those of us who collect 210+'s look for them year 'round. Skis that length have gotten harder and harder to come by. My finds are the result of regular repeat visits to a number of thrift establishments, but I only come by a couple of pairs a year and it's pure blind luck to be in the right place at the right time.

    I'm BACK.

    Missed a few years...parenthood...blown ACL...ennui...

Think it's high time to dust off the trusty 210 Elan RCs, trial-click the N-77s, and...

    GET.

    ON.

Pretty sure the bandana is still in the boot-bag.

Long Board Day has very strict rules, but if the laws of supply and demand and conspiring against you, I encourage you to impress us. I can't suggest how, but given you're mustache I'm sure you'll figure it out.

For those looking for proper equipment, if you don't find them this season, don't stop looking. It took me almost three years to find mine in the Bay Area. Just keep plugging away on CL. And ask the old shops if you can look in their sheds. Because once you get on a proper ski, all the others look a little, well, short.

And I thought there was one other rule to LBD: Ski the mountain like you would any other day. Or at least try.

    Have fun folks.

I'm sorry to not see a Kirkwood LBD chapter this year.

    Another place I found 210's...
If you are riding the chair with older, tall skiers that are on new gear, ask about what they used to ski BITD. A lot of them still have their old boards up in the rafters. The P20 RS in the picture above came from a conversation like that.

what length boards were we riding when we were 8?
tips over head plus room to grow sound right?
should i torment my lil ski machine for a couple laps, let him put those planks on edge and hang on?
mom might blow a gasket if she knew how it was and what i am prepared to do.
me, well i am going to just try and not get hurt with all this silliness.

At age 8/9 I was on 160cm Rossi ST Comp's, full arm extension for sure. I won a pair of 180 cm Dynastar Omeglass II in the kiddie race during the Pro Circuit stop that used to come to the Pass and bumped up to those for ages 9/10, beyond full arm. Google is awesome, it was during this race: http://news.google.com/newspapers?ni...g=6524,3971906
