Damn, I loved his show! I met him a few years ago at a Redbone event, super nice guy. RIP, hope there's bonefish and tarpon in heaven...

His shows actually had practical tips and his philosophy towards fishing seemed to work for me when I lived in Charleston. Big loss. Plus that Conch 27 he used to run around on in the early years was badass.

Jose seemed like a very cool guy. I watch that show with my daughter on Saturday mornings. Damn. RIP.

I used to love watching this guy.....he was just flat out cool.
Its to bad ESPN quit airing his show on Sunday mornings in my area

It seems to be cliche to say there will never be another like him. Hope I am wrong, but he and Flip are unique folks.
Memorial is Sunday in Dania at the IGFA headquarters right off I-95. Anyone that knew him, watched him, whatever is invited. Wish I still lived down that way. I think I would go.

Fishing with yonskion last Sunday, I flipped my fly into the strike zone. We were just talking about Jose and Yon hollers out "Jose Wejebe!" and damn if the trout didn't strike at that moment.
So from here on out, I am calling "Jose Wejebe" out when I'm fishing, kinda like "Leroyyyy Jenkinss!!!!"

Attorney I used to work with fished with Jose many times before he made it big. Said he was a fantastic guide and a ton of fun. There was a long time he couldn't get sponsors because of the name "Spanish Fly."
In order to properly convert this thread to a polyasshat thread to more fully enrage the liberal left frequenting here...... (insert latest democratic blunder of your choice).
