    Done.

BCA packs don't seem to be as good as their competitors. I'm likely selling mine this summer.

What is not as good? Just curious as I haven't really looked at them.

I have the float 30....Ignoring the airbag aspect the pack itself is poorly designed. general shape, Zip placement, compression system, over-padded shoulder straps, don't like that probe and shovel handle are in separate holsters from shovel blade poor ski carry system. Generally it's just over-engineered and under-designed.

To give it credit it carries better than it feels it's going to....

Had a quick look at the Mammut Ride yesterday... that seems like a good option.

I still think the sSnowpulse offers better head/neck protection though

Thanks for those who bumped this so I could see it. Good, easy survey - no false dichotomies or dumb questions that made me wonder what they were really asking.

Same here, but I'm really digging on my MR Blackjack. Functional and bomber, carries exceptionally well, and the weight is decent for an airbag. Just my $.02.

I was 99.99% sure you had the 30, PNWBrit, when you said you didn't like it. It was designed with a lot of snowmobiler input. The 36 is an excellent pack with skiing in mind, and next years is even better (lighter and cheaper).

Just FYI to go along with another bump.

Yeah I knew the drawbacks of the 30 when I got it for too good to be true $s.

I wish Black Diamond would do one.

I like my MR Blackjack also. I heard there are more companies going to be putting them out so I assume everything will be changing with better packs.

done and bump. i heard next years bca packs will have interchangable pack sizes. so you buy one base model with the airbag, then can get a buncha different storage options.

one suggestion for BCA that i forgot to include. once you deploy the airbag its really hard to get it back in there without it wanting to open the airbag compartment on its own. the airbag compartment needs to be just a little bit bigger. it has happened to me multiple times where i get to the bottom of a line to see my airbag zipper has fully opened somewhere on the way down.
