Good season, and still going strong.

Highlight was celebrating 30th birthdays with my best friend, and the wives @ Whistler w/ non ending powder for 5-6 days.

shitty snow year + stolen brand new skis/bindings poles + 2 broken bones in hand (and missing 5 weeks work) = best season ever. :-)

lets see... took shit job @ Intrawest to ski free, did that at Winter Park. Got better job in SLC, and have skiied 10 days at alta, plus a park city freebie, for a total of 82 days. Many of those Alta days were really really fun, especially a few sundays ago, when Collins shit the bed. Hi T was awesome, and greeley bowl was untracked for me & johnny deep. utah is pretty fuckin cool.
in the 377 days since breaking my leg, having surgery, doing pt, changing jobs 3 times, I've skiied 82 days. Once every 4.6 days is fine with me
Oh and can I give out a
to Matt at Winter Park retail. You're a dick.

I'm going to reserve this spot for comment in July when it ends.
Suffice to say, so far, sooooooooo good.
PNW delivered another full season this year.
Areas closed with more snow than most see during the season.
Several large maggot gatherings (yes summits are alive and well) and lift served skiing right up to the beginning of July.
All that said, my heart goes out to all my maggot friends, brothers and sisters who were less fortunate this season.
[lifting the chalice to Ullr] Here's hoping you guys get the season of a lifetime next year to make up for it [/lifting the chalice to Ullr]Last edited by AlpenChronicHabitual; 06-29-2012 at 08:56 AM.

11/12 was a great season for me! I got to ski volcanoes of the mt. Baker wilderness, the Tetons, The northern and southern Sierras, and the Elks and San Juans of Colorado.
Cheers to more powder days and stronger snowpacks for 2012/13to ski another day

Eh...I tore my calf muscle a week and a half before I left for Austria (Soelden) in January. Dumped the whole time. I could barely ski. Got back eager to recover and make the most of it and tragically lost my sister very suddenly. I've been tending to her husband and four month old son. Season pass was mostly unused. Not a good season.

this season looked dead in the east with a week of sumer temps.
the cold fought back and teased us for a few weeks - and then came the big reward!

Bag o' dicks
This season reminded me of 76-77, it was the worst year for me in decades.......that being said, did Solitude today and had a great last lift day in BCC. If I had to think about this year, and remember 4-12 I will be ok. Lcc and some tours and maybe a volcano trip will salve the weakness of this years session. PS killed way to many folks in the avalanche cycles. Snow never did get very safe.
it is good to be the geezer!

There are no bad ski days, only better ones.
Not enough of the better ones this year, but hey - I skied a bunch and it was fun. I'll ski a bunch more this spring, and that will be fun too.

Plannng on epic multi pass season but knee injury led to cashing in the passes but shitty insurance led to delay surgery which healed on its own which led to volunteering for local ski patrol which turned out to be excellent group of men and women and even tho the snow sucked got a few good days and am stoked for next year

I broke my ankle in early November (cross-country skiing), so the fact that I was able to get back to skiing by the end of January was enough to make this a great year for me, even with a thin snowpack. And we still had a few great powder days here at Bridger Bowl.

The PNW delivered big time, had the best ski trip of my life in Yurp, then got sick with pneumonia and missed nearly 6 weeks of prime skiing.
Realized how I've been dumb again and fixed it.
Saw my 10 year old son tomahawk the lower liftline @ Silverton.
Skied our local sidecountry with both him and my 8 year old daughter (what can be better than having your teensy daughter shrieking with joy in pow). Also did some of the shorter Silverton hikes with them.
Had my wife revel in her new DPS Lotus 120s as the best skis evar.
Did some new San Juan tours, made some new friends, spent quality time with some old ones. Closed Alpental with a fantastic crew.
So there were a few really great highs, a few terrifying moments, some persistent bad lows, but all in all a really, really great year.
And the lift served season is still rolling.Merde De Glace

Gotta love the PNW.
Lift served at Crystal still running for one more weekend and the touring is still in prime condition. Usually hang it up by the beginning of July but the good touring is going to last into August this year.
We could do with some sun though.
Taking Wed off to tour in the sunshine.
Been a great season that hasn't yet ended.Hugh Conway is my moral compass.
