Skip Vail. Every ride is a non-stop facepalm of depression.

No, actually. It was the grit in my eyes from all the dirt and mud. I think they should skip pond skimming and have naked chicks mud wrestling.

The coverage in LCC is pretty good. Nothing like last year, but everything is pretty much filled in and once it softens is pretty fun. I'd skip CO this year.

If you're still coming through Denver, I have a room and free ticket to Loveland for you. Let me know.

I'll also be golfing and riding this weekend if you skip out on mud and rock dodging.

Thanks for all of the updates and suggestions. Based on these I am rethinking my plans and planning to be flexible.
Yesterday I was given a wonderful tour-de-Squaw by JLA415 and Gonetoalpine that really set a high standard for what spring skiing should be. I may need to either lower my standards and/or change my route/destinations/timing.
I'll be happy to get some skiing in to give me some breaks on around a 2000 mile drive.
    Thanks again.

I'm about to start heading west on highway 80. I hope to post again later today or sometime tomorrow before I make my skiing selection(s) and directions.

Crampedon, thanks for posting the inspirational video. Even with the rockin' soundtrack to move me, I think that I'll skip Vail this time. Will those invincible skis be offered soon in gear swap?

Thanks again to everyone else who has offered beta, suggestions, etc.

If you don't ski LCC you are nuts, got 13" new from last night until 7:45 this morning at Alta with some more for today, tonight tomorrow etc. Going to be cold all weekend, 20's for the high. Nothing good open today other than the High T but I can tell you it skied great this morning. Tomorrow will be outstanding as they get Backside and the Shoulder open. Going to get an early dawn patrol in and then ski the resort. Never lose optimism when you live in the Wasatch, sooner or later it gets good.

    Update:
After over 15 hours on the road yesterday I felt the need, the need for skied. So I took 76 to 70 and skied A-basin this morning and Breckenridge this afternoon just to break up the drive and having that I gots to know feeling. A-basin had less terrain with better snow and Breck had more terrain with worse snow. Still gIlad that I got some skiing in. I'll be on my way to Utah right after I finish my tuna sandwich.

Bird was good today, a little heavier snow on the lower half but still really fun. Still snowing up there, tomorrow should be pretty fun. North facing runs on the Peruvian side are holding some incredible snow on the upper mountain, like mid Winter powder quality stuff.

Skied Solitude today. Honeycomb Canyon was great fun.
A big thank you to skifishbum for showing me the lay of the land and how to get to the goods as well as how to get back.
About to head further west now.

    Dude, one word: Moab.

It isn't necessary to imagine the world ending in fire or ice. There are two other possibilities: one is paperwork, and the other is nostalgia.

    A belated photo follow-up.

    Wrestling Poster in Nebraska:

I was tempted to return to Nebraska just for this event. Notice the name of the sports shop on the upper right.

I wonder why no one is buying gas here:

Arapahoe Basin, Colorado, April 13, 2012:

This was my first time at A-Basin. I'd like to come back when they have more snow.

    Breckenridge, Colorado, April 13, 2012:

I've been here a couple of times before. It is also better with more snow.

    Solitude, Utah, April 15, 2012:

Honeycomb Canyon provided some fresh. Thanks again to skifishbum for showing me around.

On the road again in western Utah, April 15, 2012:
