So this pink slime thing
Really highlights how, in the information age, government regulatory agencies like USDA and FDA are obsolete and not helpful

Oh....you mean like requiring that our meat NOT contain E.coli and other nasties, and requiring that milk production plants meet certain minimum hygene standards?
The FDA did want to regulate that 'pink slime' further...it was the private meat industry that lobbied against such regulation...successfully.
Don't forget that it is BECAUSE of the FDA that we have the excellent ability to actually READ the ingredients in our packaged/processed foods.
Do you think the food industry would EVER voluntarily print a label listing all the preservatives and food colorings and basic CRAP in our foods...or print labels listing what percentage of saturated fats and trans fats our processed foods have????
Hell no, they wouldn't!!!
But the food industry even has their fingers in THAT regulation...because have you EVER seen sugar listed on food as a percentage of the US Recommended Daily Allowance?? NO...it's always blank. You know why? Because the REAL % USRDA for sugar contained in many foods, especially snacks, would probably be like 250%...that's why! The snack-food industry lobbied against including sugar as a % of daily allowance...it's so obvious. They don't want those HUGE sugar %s on there packages!!

So now they're saying this Clintonville night time boom/shaking thing was a series of very low magnitude earthquakes. Yeah - that's great. So what about that dude they found fifty feet up that high tension wire tower five miles north of town starved to death? What - was he chased up there by raccoons? Earthquakes my black ass - they're lying to us! LYING!!!
Those fucking bastards!

Dont forget that A LOT of people are simply ok with paying more to eat that. Maybe we should get rid of the FDA. Natural selection would take its course and the rest of us would be better off.
Edit: Nothing against the FDA.. unfortunately its necessary (sad indictment)

Interesting. You'd think a real crazy person would be better at identifying a fake paranoid rant

Is this filler used in premade patty stuff only? Or is it in the ground beef we buy at the market?

Anything that comes from the packing plant already ground (the "tubes" of ground beef and the premade patties) probably has pink slime in it. The stuff that's freshly ground at the store probably doesn't.
You can usually tell by the texture...the stuff out of the tubes generally feels mushier and pastier than the freshly ground stuff from the supermarket.

Seems pretty soon it probably won't be an issue. Most of the big grocery stores have bowed to public pressure and said they will no longer sell hamburger with the pink slime added. For the other person, it was estimated that 70% of the hamburger sold anywhere (grocery stores, fast food, etc) had the pink slime in it. One of the higher up people in the FDA said long ago that he didn't think that stuff should be in food for humans as it used to be used for dog food. When he was overuled, he actually started grinding his own hamburger. Sounds like he didn't think it was safe. Seems like a law should be made to make them list if stuff like this is added in food as I'm sure the same thing happens with fish and chicken patties.

The free market got pink slime out of the burger, not the government. Government = coruption.
The market delivers what people want to buy. Especialy if the market doesn't falsely assume the government is watching out for it.
Anyone notice the relationship between American obesity and unhealthyness and government involvement in regulation of food production and lableing?
If the point of the FDA is to make us healthier and to protect us from food companies, they get an "F".
News Flash lefties. The FDA CAUSED us to be more unhealthy. The free market would have done better than the FDA has done.I've been to two state fairs and a goat fuck and never seen anything like this!!

Wait a minute dummy. Sugar LOBBY. Who got LOBBIED? Who got paid off to leave it off the label? GOVERNMENT you douche. All the stupid liberals who read the stupid labels thinking big brother is looking out for them are tricked, fooled and lied to by GOVERNMENT. They assume big brother is looking out for them so they don't feel the need for thePERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY needed to be educated.
Thin healthy guys like me know the government is a joke so we don't bother listening to big brother. We do our own home work.I've been to two state fairs and a goat fuck and never seen anything like this!!

Private enterprise pays lobbyists to bribe congress. We're in agreement. Bad eating habits are a function of laziness and economics and to a lesser degree, education.

Of course they do. Why do you think I'm so against government being involved in everything. Follow along dummy.
Hey, there have always been lazy poor people. Based on your argument, there should have always been the same percentage of obese Americans. There has never been a time in history where more information about food has been available. So why are we getting fatter and fatter?
Government taking personal responsibility away from people.I've been to two state fairs and a goat fuck and never seen anything like this!!

Nice try. Its called processed food with bullshit filler ingredients that send insulin levels thru the roof and fuck up metabolism. Private enterprise told the public how awesome it was, like white bread and wholesome salty coldcuts, etc. Heck, they used to spike Coke with.....coke. Oh, and what I said about sugar and High fructose corn syupr and its variations. I'm pretty sure the fat people would've still gotten fat with or with out regulation. Matter of fact, there might be more and even more morbidly obese fatties wobbling around. Maybe you should try to advocate for tobacco while yer at it.
