Nobody is saying violent crime in America is not a real problem but as far as things getting worse according to the FBI the rates for rape, robbery, aggravated and simple assault, and homicide are 1/3rd what they were two decades ago and the overall rate is the lowest in almost half a century.

Sex in the Shower
In a recent English survey requested by the Prime Minister, David Cameron, it has been proved that most Liverpool men are most likely to have had sex in the shower!
In the survey, carried out for him by a leading toiletries firm, a huge majority, 86% of Liverpool men, said that they have enjoyed sex in the shower.

The other 14% said they hadn't been to prison yet.

I'm not saying people should shoot people but that other people need to stand up and see there is a problem. When someone in the neighborhood has a problem people should step up and help. Not necessarily with a firearm but you wouldn't need one if everybody stuck together. They would go somewhere else until someone did the same. Right now all we do is watch people be victimized and then talk about it later instead of getting involved. My neighbors would at least givem the heads up for who to watch out for like the meth house on the end of the block and all that good stuff. They just didn't want to get involved. All I'm saying is if you don't get involved sooner or later people are going to see your block like easy pickings and people are gonna have to stick up for themselves.

Wonder if that has anything to do with conceal carry laws and the deterrant.
Edit: But I sure hope you aren't saying things in the future won't get worse. Population spread and gangs spread. Try to get a decent place in Chicago without paying out your ass. The gangs just keep growing further into the suburbs and the suburbs keep growing too. Sooner or later there isn't gonna be as much money for police. There already isn't enough and they get laid off a lot. At some point there isn't going to be any more room to build suburbs to keep away from all the gang bullshit. The gangs are already in practically any suburb in MPLS/STP. I'm sure it's the same way all over the country.
As the saying goes, "If there were no cops, who are you gonna call a meth-head when somebody breaks into your hous."Last edited by Crass3000; 05-01-2012 at 02:58 PM.

It sort of defies explanation why the rate of violent crime in 2011 was down nearly 70% since the early 90s but the drop in crime rates is also true in cities like NY with stricter gun laws and limited CCW. One of the more controversial analysis is that better access to birth control and abortion means fewer unwanted children while police commissioners have attributed it to better police work. The "common sense" correlations like incarceration rates (which are down) or economic downturns (robbery rates have gone down in spite of the Recession and high unemployment) fail to shed much light on it.

Yah without bringing CCW into it, Minneapolis had one of the highest murder rates/per capita in the country in the early to mid 90s. There were just tons of gang crimes during that time. Lots of people called Minneapolis, "Muderapolis" even outside the state. I put $4000+ into a car stereo and had fingerpronts (bloody ones) where they could have caught the people but there was too much crime. The cop just looked at me and said we have had ### number of murders this year. Didn't say and more than that aand wouldn't even take my police report. There was a lot of gangs of all kinds coming into Minneapolis at the time. Not sure why the crime died down so much but maybe it had something to do with all the dead people and less people on the outside.

Things were a whole lot easier to understand when I was sure race was basically the same thing as ethnecity. This is getting confusing with all there counter-examples that are or are not true.
