Serious question: Is David Lesh a self-made man, or just the product of a fat trust fund and a sheltered upbringing?

    Completely, totally, utterly ignorant statement.

Lesh is the anti-GSA. That's why it never snowed in Colorado this season.

Really? You should try it sometime, not sliding accross metal, but actually making turns in ungroomed snow.

David Lesh is an excellent, responsible pilot and did NOT drink before flying. It's a movie, and like most movies, there are things that are staged. All driving and shooting gun scenes were staged, and there were no laws broken in this video. Show us the permits or it's just bullshit talk.

I think all of you need to take a step back and realize where you are encouraging the ski industry to go, because it's not a very fun or exciting place.
Yeah, Ima get me a glock and got shoot up da tree's on da way to da hill so Iz can have me sum fun, retard.

Can't say I have ever seen a trailer pulled like that before. Let alone by a Subaru.

TGR... bitter crusty old dudes... has it come to us being TTips?

We weren't bitter old and crusty in 2003 when we came here from Powdermag. Have we grown old and bitter since then?

We are older than the 14-24 year old crowd on NS. I'd still wager the average age here is upper 20s.

If FD was shooting blanks, staging the road, drinking water, and wiggering in jest, then kudos to them for the troll, you got us good. But you still look like of a herd of tarded ball lickers cuz your marketing is as total fail as your footy and fake radio traffic of taking off and returning to the airport in Boulder as if you'd actually flown up to the mountains to ski instead of driving up I70 like every other frontranger, which is what FD did, bullets or blanks.

It would actually be cooler if you were just stupid instead of posing for the lulz.

    Nothing's really changed...

We don't make the snow. We just make it more enjoyable.

the egregious use of twinkles on the bling makes that photo. Font choice is pretty baller too.

To Summit: i think their advertising is working. Just not on everyone here at TGR... but let's be real, they aren't catering to the run-of-the-mill skier. They're catering to the newschool. Our torch-bearers.

Why all the hate for the weekend warriors?! We are the TRUE core of the ski industry. We are the ones who pay full retail for a quiver of expensive equipment we upgrade every season whether we need to or not. As such, us wage slaves are the reason pros can be pros and bros can get the trickle down. We stay at the hotels, eat at the restaurants, drink at the bars and pay for the lifts that employ the ski bums. We pay for the guides, we pay for the instructors, and our lift passes pay for the patrollers. For every full time skier living the dream there is a multitude of weekend warriors behind them! Weekend warriors of the world unite!

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely am 100% conscious of the truth of the industry. You could also add to that that it is in fact the East coast that supports the ski industry as well. West has far less ski sales by volume...

    Shit... I'm a weekend warrior.

However, if we have a seven page thread hating on people pretending to be something for a brief period and going back to their normal lives, then obviously the weekend warrior needs to come under fire. I feel we've got some rock throwing while living in a glass house going on here.

Sure gangster could be considered stupid... but so could mountain man. I mean it just depends on your perspective... and if you're older and mature you have come to the point in life where you understand that perspective is everything.

i think Hugh Conway nailed it on page 1, and everything else is filler.

except, of course, for the poutine/hamburger combo vid that bishop and blurred will put together.

I know where you are coming from but I felt I needed to quash the anti-investment banker sentiment that was infiltrating this thread and hopefully re-direct the hate toward youth culture. BTW Doug, do you still roll 20's?

    Bro I don't take 20... I roll 20.

And I roll it every time.

TBH I fully back the investment banker schtick. I'm a 100% weekend warrior with a wife, kid, mortgage and a career. I just want to make sure we're using logic to attack youth culture, vs. being old people that hate stuff that 'them damn kids are into these days'.

I'm highly amazed actually at how many people instantly forget that they were a kid when they get older. I mean jesus... were we all so influential as we like to pretend like today's crop are?

Naw... wannabe mountain town man is WAY more of a pussy, because he couldn't commit to being a real mountain man.

Stupid skittle kid is just stupid, and investment banker is... well investment banker who skis and enjoys himself.

You know what, fuck it. Though I wouldn't film myself firing rounds into the woods from my Subaru, I can't really fault the dudes who made this video. I'm assuming they knew what(&where) they were doing. Otherwise it wouldn't be promotional shit they're spreading around the interwebz. It's true they might not be setting the best example for impressionable youths, but it's also true that I didn't get a gun and go 1-8-7 on a mothafuckin cop just from bumping that track over and over... people probably wouldn't watch it if I filmed myself doing anything, really. So fuck it. Buttfuck it. This thread has inspired me to wear this out on the slopes from now on...

Wow, you guys are a bunch of bitter haters. Okay the video is wannabe gansterish and toolish. But the visuals and editing are top notch - that kid has talent. He needs to mature a bit and turn down the gangster clowning, but he knows how to tell a visual story and do it professionally.

It's also actually impressive that he used what he had available - his pilots license, an old piper airplane, a cheap Japanese car covered in graphics - to put together a kind of video storyline. It actually was done really well.

If that kid is self made then he's done a helluva lot with himself by the age of 25.

He's a lot more impressive on the accomplishments list than a guy working a crap job in a ski town to pay for some turns.

New school isn't my scene but I give the guy major props.

Good thing we're not talking about blacks or homos here. (minus kidwoo who drives 38 seconds to unload his sled instead of driving it there like someone who isn't a gape does)

Making fun of those different than us is okay as long as the herd agrees. LOL

I don't really care about this video. It's dramatized stuff only a kid could believe.
You can't fly into Breck, there's no landing strip. Nearest place would be Park county, Kremmling or Eagle county. Might as well drive from Boulder...would take same amount of time. Also, firing a handgun out the window at nothing is lame too. Flying around corners with a trailer is dumb also, but who cares? This video is more like an ordinary Hollywood action movie.....so it's not very believable.....who cares? Most people watch videos/movies to escape from reality....how dare people create something all of these haters could NEVER do?
Haters gonna hate....unfortunately around here, it's usually from people who have never ventured anything themselves. That is much more pathetic than this video could ever be.

'Karma' is an Eastern religious concept which views all human dramas as the will of God as opposed to present - and past - life actions.
