Attach avalung to Float 30

Heard about people zip tying the avalung to a shoulder strap, searched and didn't find the thread. Not even sure what to search for...

So how have people done it? Guessing that the avalung needs to stay in the sling to operate properly. Cut the straps off the avalung sling?

I don't see the benefit? Cut the strap off and you can no longer use it alone? Like on a big day inbounds, solo in the trees?

I cut the straps off mine & added velco so it attaches to all my packs, ie goes on the big pack for hut trips & small bag for day trips. Seems ok, am yet to test it in real life

Benefit, you don't have another thing to take off, and you don't have the awkward feeling that I get when I have an avalung underneath a backpack.
